Hotel Exercise Rooms

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Until I started with the Turtle Challenge last April with Crochet the Pounds Away I used to only look in the window at the exercise equipment.
Now I try to use the treadmill at each hotel we stop at.
I guess I am starting to like exercising.
As soon as we get to NY we have a bike there that we ride 3 days a week and we go for a walk Monday to Friday. It sure is hillier in NY than it is in Florida.

The "Turtle Challenge" with "Crochet the Pounds Away" - I just love it!

Peggy, WOW! Are you ever doing great with your exercising! It seems that in your last few blogs, there's a real and growing enthusiasm for exercising, for seeing how much you can do and where you can go with it. You're amazing...and very inspiring! - Sara emoticon

Good for you for getting on the equipment opposed to just using the equipment. I have no doubt that using the hotel fitness rooms will help you in your journey while on the road. I know all about it. I was on the road for 6 months living in hotels and I managed to get a few workouts in. Unfortunately, hotel equipment wasn't always sufficient for my weight.

On My Way

Friday, March 20, 2009

Today was our first day of travel on our way to NY. We are in Columbia SC.
I am going to continue with my exercise and walking regime while we are away and eat the way I should. We will be gone for 1 month and I want to come back lighter and fitter.

Oh, how enjoyable that must be, Peggy - meandering your way up to NY! Keep us posted on your whereabouts, won't you? I really admire you for keeping up your fitness regime while you're gone; it would be so easy to dispense with it. But I think good health habits are something you've really fostered, and I admire you for it! Enjoy your travels, Sara emoticon

Have a safe trip up and I am sure you will do well. The weather is still cold but it is going to get better, keeping fingers crossed, I'm tired of the cold. Take care and remember to stretch your legs.

One Week

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

I weighed in at 168.8 today - 1 pound from last week. I am finally below 169 and I promise to do my best this week to keep the downward trend.
We are leaving on Friday for a three day drive to NY but I am still going to get some steps in and do my strength exercises.
I will keep going down.

Maybe I really am getting crazy about walking

Saturday, February 21, 2009

I went to a Princess House party at my girlfriends today and I saw that she had a treadmill. I walked on it for a while before the party started and that also kept me away from the food. I made my 10,000 steps again today and I usually take the weekends off from walking.

    emoticon Peggy!!! 10,000!!

I just love that you cleverly came up with a way to avoid that food AND exercise at - of all things! - a Princess House party! We don't usually associate them with weight loss, after all. I love this quest of yours to fit more steps into your day - emoticon Your fan, Sara emoticon

Hey way to go! I wear my pedometer everyday. I don't like leaving home without it. I try to get 10,000 or more steps a day also. It pays off.

Today I decided to make stepping goals for myself. I want to have 5000 steps in by lunch time.
After I have been sitting for a while I am getting up and walking around the house. I even went outside and walked around the cul de sac.
I want to have 8000 steps by dinnertime and then I will get the other 2000 in after dinner.
So now I have a plan.

Hi there, Peggy! Thanks so much for sharing your logging/tracking techniques with me...and I do that with tasting, too, especially if it's something that normally wouldn't be part of my program - something a little too sweet or rich :) I love your idea of setting up stepping goals for yourself! It's so much easier to achieve it by taking it in small "bites" at a time, don't you think? You're doing great!! - Sara emoticon
