Back in Florida

Since we are here in Florida on the first I will start right in writing down in my notebook everything that passes my lips. I lost weight better this way because I know that I don't want ot write licked the spoon while making sauce or tasted the recipe 10 times.

On Wednesday we will be heading back to Florida. It will be nice to be home where I am in charge of all the food and the weather is nicer to walk outside.


Challenge Myself

I want to get thru all of the holidays without gaining weight.
I am going to challenge myself to write down everything that I eat, every lick of the spoon when I am stirring the sauce and every crumb I put in my mouth. I will write it in my log book and then I will transfer it to my food tracker.
From now until Jan. 2 I will write it all down.
It doesn't mean that I can't celebrate the holidays. It just means that I am making myself accountable to me.

Home Sweet Home

Well, I am back in Florida for a couple of months so I will be able to eat just what I want.
I gained three pounds this week but I know the reason and that is over. Now maybe I will have a big loss next week. I think I am fighting with myself because I got to 169.8 and kept hovering there and now I am 172.8.
I will return to 169.8 and beyond. (or is that below?)

Going to Lake Placid

Well, I will be going away next week from Monday to Saturday and we will be eating out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We don't always have all of those meals but most of them. When I am away on vacation I usually have a glass of wine at night so I have to leave room for that too.
I am keeping a small notebook in my pocket and writing everything down as I eat it. That way I will be more accountable. I get plenty of walks in so exercise won't be too hard.

Any other ideas?

    You can do it! Writing everything down is a great way to go - as you can see the big picture at the end of the day. If it's possible, predetermine what you will have for breakfast. I usually stick to a poached egg on unbuttered wheat toast and fruit of some sort or a whole grain cereal, if they have it. It's the one meal that I know I can keep simple, so I don't deviate. And if I have aready made up my mind I won't sit there reading the list of other tempting foods. Lunch I usually stick to a plain salad of some sort with grilled chicken or a fish. Again, I just don't want the temptations. Why read down the sandwich list, when I know it isn't the direction I need to go. Dinner have a simple meat/fish or poultry selection and double vegatables, and a nice salad. Enjoy your glass of wine, and skip dessert. I think the hardest part of travelling and eating out is getting the fruit you need. Stop at a roadside stand and get some apples for snacks. Have a wonderful time - I love that area.
