Bad Food for Me

Hi, We have been in NY for over a week now and it is harder to stay on my eating plan because there is bad food in the refrigerator and closets.
We are staying in our house here but our son and daughter live there year round and they have lots of food that I don't eat.
I open the door of the closet and there are pretzels and chips which I never keep in my house. There are cookies and ice cream too.
I just have to ignore these things and go for my veggies.
This is my goal for September. Don't eat things that I wouldn't eat at home.

This is the second day of our three day drive to NY and for the second day in a row I used the treadmill in the hotel. Before Mary on my Crochet the Pounds Away team led us in this challenge, I never would have thought to even look in the exercise room. Well, I looked but I didn't open the door.
Now I am so used to doing some sort of cardio that I missed not doing it.
We have been walking 5 days a week since April and this is the first week that we missed. Luckily we were at Disney on last Sunday and Monday and got a lot of steps in. On Sunday we did 14,780. Monday we had to leave early to get home but on Tuesday to Friday it was Tropical Storm Fay that kept us from walking.
I really am enjoying exercise more now.

How Am I Doing

I decided to stop and think. How have I been doing.
People are just starting to notice that I have lost weight. I wondered how long it was going to take. I have lost 33 pounds now.
A couple of months ago, people started to say that the clothes that I wore were making me look thinner. I thought that was a wierd thing to say but I didn't mention that I had lost 15 pounds because they didn't mention that I must have lost weight they just thought it was my clothes.
I can't wait until I go back to NY to see if anyone notices this time.
Well, that's enough thinking.
I am enjoying this.

I, PeggyO, hereby agree and commit to take the following steps to improve my accountability to myself and increase my chances for weight loss success: .
1. I choose to be in charge of my own decisions and behavior. If I think that getting in all that exercise just takes too long to do I will just say “get over it”.
2. I will not let one small slip-up keep me from achieving my goals
3. I will continue to fill in my food tracker by noon so that I am sure to get everything in that I need.
4. I will share my weight with my friends and family
5. I will reward myself with appropriate rewards
6. I will get up from the computer and move around.


Weight Training

Mary of "Crochet the Pounds Away" is leading us in a challenge and she has me doing exercise that I just passed over before.
Now that I am doing them I think that I will continue. I never really did any strength training. My husband does it every other day so I think that I might just join him. It took me years to join him in riding the stationary bike and now I really enjoy it.
I was the one that got us walking 5 days a week and we do it even when we are on vacation. I think that SP really has had a great influence on my life.
