Sticking to the plan.Sunday, June 27, 2010So far I am suprising myself by sticking to my new fitness plan. I started with some small and managable workouts and I consulted a professional. I think that those two things really helped. I am not really looking forward to the task yet, but I know it is neccessary and I think it will get better as I educate myself more about fitness. I remember starting the task of losing weight 7 months ago now and how impossible that seemed at the time. Now 81 lbs lighter, I have settled into some healthier eating habits that are like 2nd nature to me and I hope the fitness will become the same way. I'll keep looking for things that I enjoy and incorporating them into working out, along with the neccessary evils! LOL ![]()

I purchased the Biggest Loser 30 Day Jump Start workout dvd. It is a series of 10 minute daily workouts for 30 days to get you started. The 10 minutes flew by while I had my mp3 going and it wasn't FUN, but it was certainly tolerable and pretty easy to do considering all the exercises had a modification if you were uncomfortable jumping or lifting anything too high. I actually broke a sweat (which I hate, lol) but I felt good when I was done and I am looking forward to another 10 minutes tomorrow. The dvd menu is simply labled for each week and day of the week for the 4 weeks. I followed this with a simple 10 minutes of toning on my stability ball. Not bad. I'll report to my trainer today and get his feedback and we'll see what tomorrow brings. For today though, I took the first step into the dark world of working out and I'm proud of myself.

PEGGYJO44 I was over 350 lbs and a size 5 X or 38 almost 3 years ago when I started working out seriously. At that time I could do only 10 mins on the elliptical without stopping and taking a rest. Things do get easier as time goes buy and you will be surprised at what you once thought was impossible become cool. Don't be afraid to try anything just because of your size. Don't get discouraged if you can't do it at first. Do what you can. Can only get to your knees when you bend over when you start, thats ok. Keep trying. Push yourself a little more every time. Inch below the knee great. Before you know it you will get to your toes. It is all about small steps. You can do it. Report Inappropriate Comment |

You should be so proud of yourself! 10 minutes at a time worked wonders for me! I know what you mean by the breaking a sweat thing, I still hate it, but I know it's for the good of my health. Good luck and continued success to you!!!!!!!!
