Returned again but staying for good now

Friday, November 16, 2012

For the last couple of weeks I stopped visiting Spark People and I am really sorry that I did. I did not let my weight slip back too bad as I gained a back few extra pounds back again. Well I am back ready to get back into the saddle and put my weight problems behind me so one of my goals is to visit the site every day.

I can identify with your experiences - Have found it very simple to add and much more difficult to subtract!

The Scale

Monday, October 15, 2012

I was just curious as how many get frustrated when they weight themselves and when they go someplace else (ex. gym, Dr. office) and they get disappointed by the results? I found out what works for me is on my scale at home I put two ten pound dumbbells of it as see what the result is. In the past I would weight myself at home and then when I got to the Dr.'s office or gym my weight went up 13 or 14 pounds.

Not everyone is a fan of weighing daily; I am. In order to gauge my progress, I take the numbers on my scales as the truth--all other scales are, in my opinion, unimportant. When I began this journey, I weighed on my scales in my family room (wii), without clothes and, believe me, there is no other place where I will weigh like that--not happening! emoticon I don't have to like what I see on the scales at the doctor's office but it helps to know from the outset that his scales do not agree with mine. If numbers are going to be an important part of this journey, then I will choose my scales to gauge my progress. They are the scales that are telling that part of my story...and the scales in the doctor's office will be showing my losses too--even though the numbers are not identical.

Have a good one!

I weigh myself first thing in the morning with no clothes on almost everyday so I can track what my body is doing. I do notice I retain water if I ate salty or when my body cycles. That is the only scale I trust, so all the others mean little to me. I know if my scale keeps going down that I am losing! Also the minute you put different clothes on or eat and drink you will gain a few pounds but they are temporary not permanent. I do try to gage clothes fit and inches more as a sign of where I am headed but I also use the scale! Good luck!

Personal Trainer (NASM Certified)

Sunday, October 14, 2012

In a week or so I am planning on getting the program to becoming a certified Personal Trainer (NASM). Anyone have any experience with this? Looking for input from anyone who may have information or experience with them.

I read the weight loss stories on the Huff Post. They are very encouraging.
