Great day with family. Family spent the day at Aunt Pamilas. We had great healthy food. Dinner was turkey breast and fresh fruit. Breakfast was scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. Walked well over an hour in AM and spent time jogging in pool in afternoon. Played dominoes and I actually won a game. We are now home with 3 happy dogs (our two goldens and a foster). My parents babysat the dogs for us.

Calories In: About 2000
Calories Out: About 200 (Walk)

Great day with family. Worked from home in AM and then went to visit Aunt Pamila. Food - I was expecting a bad dinner so I kept breakfast small (Slimfast) and lunch was piece of bread with 2 oz turkey. Had 2 graham crackers and a peppermint pattie (not tracked - forgot) for snacks. Dinner - two hamburgers (ground sirloin) with rolls, fruit and more fresh fruit. After dinner we went to an ice cream parlor where the ice cream is made on sight. I had peanut butter cup ice cream with hot fudge. Had to guess calories - and everything came to 1700. Figure it was probably 2000.

TODAY:
Calories In: Approx 4000
Calories Out: 250 (Walk) plus strength training
Second bad day in a row - not a good streak. Be with wife next few days so the eating will be better - she is strict! Going to try to be good but not worry about it until the 5th. Got a dinner / party Saturday, Sunday and Monday

Worked late and had Subway for dinner. Already had Chinese for lunch. Should have eaten more at lunch and skipped dinner. Not sure why I seem to be out of control the last two days. Work is okay - no major issues. Sleep is so - so but not bad. Mood seems okay.

Good luck with your goal! emoticon When I go to parties I like to eat everything that looks good but I don't want to let it derail my weight loss. A trick that I do is I look at everything that is available and get literally ONE bite of each thing that looks really good. The rest of my plate I will fill with fruits and vegetables. If there is a lean protein I'll have about a handful of that too. If something is really delicious I may allow myself another bite and that's it. When I do this I don't gain weight. Just be aware of your portions, and the nutritional value of the foods you eat. I'm sure it can be hard working for a candy company but once you get used to healthier eating, it does get easier and you'll enjoy eating healthier, trust me! I used to be a huge carb addict!

You'll get there! Can't say when, but you've already proven to yourself that you have the ability to kick some major lb's to the curb!

I think we see ourselves improving and are so proud of what we've accomplished, that we unknowingly forget our destination on this path and veer off for a moment here and there, because either we "deserve" a break or starve for something bad!

The key is to remember where the BAD got us and know that there are so many things that we "deserve" in life. #1... feeding ourselves with nourishment (food to survive, not enjoy), filling our lives with joy and happiness, and at least remembering one beautiful thing to feel grateful for each day. Oh, and of course,...THINK POSITIVE!!!

There will be room for Chinese, cookies, and all the other crap that is lurking around a cabinet or restaurant, in time. Treating ourselves now and then won't hurt, but careful not to overindulge! I have noticed that keeping ONE day alotted for a "treat myself" day, whether it's an amazing meal or a forbidden food, helps me stay in control, is something to look forward to, and allows the craving to be conquered.

It's certainly difficult to throw a love for food out the window. I do believe that some people utilize food as destruction, but for some, it is simply enjoyable to the pallet. I, for one, love to try new foods, love to cook, and enjoy the pleasures of presenting a meal and feeding my friends and family. My mistake was overeating! Going for seconds, eating out of boredom, if it tasted good...it made happy (just while eating)...I think we call that comfort food. Only thing is, Americans consider comfort food" mashed potatoes, meatloaf, chicken pot pie...etc. I thought of comfort food as sitting on the couch and enjoying whatever I wanted..."comfortably"...haha That led me to a path of destruction!

RIGHT NOW.... we need to stay focused on the prize... Let's face it, there is no cookie or plate of general chicken that is more fulfilling than feeling good about ourselves feels!

Keep strutting down that path to a healthy, happy future! Don't look back! emoticon

Work days are not very exciting (to me they can be but to others - I find telling people about my work puts them to sleep). I did walk the fitness trail in the early afternoon. Unfortunately My dress shirt changes color when wet and it was humid. Hid out in my cube with a fan until the shirt returned to normal color. There was cake at work. I had a big piece of Strawberry Shortcake. My calories are probably high - I guessed high on the cake. I worked out this evening - got home late and now thinking about sleep. One more day of this and I'll slack off through the holiday.

I could never do the things you do. I do good just tracking my food and walking. I used weights the other day and my arms, shoulders and upper chest have been soooo muscle sore since.

Keep up the awesome job and you will reach your goals in no time.
