Mission 300 - Failure is NOT an Option - 90 Days Left

Weight this AM: 326
Days to Go: 90
Calories for Day: 1850
Exercise Calories: 741
Rookie Runner Training Program: Completed Week1 - repeating workout 3 Thursday

I'll increase my calories if I lose more than 3 pounds a week starting next week. I assuming I am dropping some water this week (332 down to 326 in 4 days).

Today I completed Week 1 - Workout 3 of the Rookie Running Program. I'll repeat this workout on Thurday and do Week 2 - Workout 1 on Saturday. Think I am going to keep Sat - Tues - Thurs for Running Program and Mon - Weds - Fri for Strength. Elliptical Moderate Mon & Weds and 1000 Calorie workout on Fri. Fitness trail walks on every day that weather cooperates.

I ate a mango today. A tasty fruit with one wierd pit. I also had left over tofu alfredo which I thought was better today than it was on Sunday. Dinner was lacking - Great tasting rice dish but by the time I got home not much was left - just 1 serving and some green beans. To up my calorie count I had elfins topped with fresh strawberries and coolwhip. (No Biscuit so I improvised and use animal crackers). Oh yeah - Sarah was disappointed the alfredo left overs were gone.

Special treat for my Spark Friends. A new picture taken tonight. I'll also add an earlier picture for comparision.

I am the one on the right in these pictures. The lady on the left is the love of my life and wife Deborah.

Take Care - Paul

This is the first time I wore all black. One of our new hires, Darby, wears nothing but black so I declared today to be Darby day. Myself and a couple of co-workers all wore black. Darby knew about this and actually wore khakis and a blue shirt.

Another tidbit - in the fat picture - I was sucking in my gut. Always did this for photos - guess I was trying to "hide" my gut. emoticon

Mission 300 - Failure is NOT an Option - 91 Days Left

Weight this AM: 328
Days to Go: 91
Calories for Day: 1753
Exercise Calories: 700
Rookie Runner Training Program: Week 1 Day 3 Due Tues & Thurs

I ate again today. Probably a 1000 calories in veggies and fruit and that is a lot of veggies and fruits!! Chicken for dinner, Oatmeal for breakfast. Smart One dessert thing for dessert.

STRENGTH TRAINING!!!! I used the white machines at work except for 2. One was too scary and the other too hard to figure out. The other 11 machines were mastered. Two intimidating types started working out when I was so I took a break from the machines and did the elliptical for a while. They left and I finished.

I am proud of myself. I am motivated, driven and focused. I am also one day closer to the "Happy Dance" video.

I will succeed!

28 pounds to go, 91 days. That's a very do-able target and your 1000 calories on veggies and fruit sounds marvellous!

Mission 300 - Failure is NOT an Option - 92 Days Left

Weight this AM: 329
Days to Go: 92
Calories for Day: 1753
Exercise Calories: Day of Rest
Rookie Runner Training Program: Week 1 Day 3 Due Tues & Thurs

I ate great today. My family tried Tofu Alfredo. Girls thought it was okay and ate a lot of it. I thought it was okay and will probably make this again. I may even try some other tofu recipes.

I bought a mango but I am not sure how to eat it.

Heather had an indoor field hockey game and her team got crushed.

No workout today. My legs are stiff from yanking out the tree and bush yesterday. Will have to use the elliptical in AM to losen things out.

One day closer to the "Happy Dance" video.

When I was small, my mom would put us in the bathtub and give us each a peeled mango. We'd eat to our hearts' content and once we're sucking the huge pit, she would wash us off. Grown-ups strip the peel off and, holding the fruit down on the plate with a fork, cut strips of flesh from the mango. However you choose to eat it, you'll love the taste!

PS - Google "How to eat a mango" - there are videos and all sorts of fun ways to eat it.

I LOVE mangoes, I just bought a bunch this week and they're perfect. There's a big flat pit that runs through the mango. You want to take a knife and cut a "lobe" off of each side around the pit. From there you can either cut the skin off and cut it into cubes or just take a spoon and scoop the meat out from the skin. I wouldn't recommend peeling it before you cut the pit out. It gets way too slippery and can be dangerous to cut. I hope you enjoy it!

Mission 300 - Failure is NOT an Option - 93 Days Left

Pounds to Go: 30
Days to Go: 93
Calories for Day: 1544
Exercise Calories: 235
Rookie Runner Training Program: Day 2 Completed

Today I ate great! I had lots of veggies and fruit. A little light on meat today.

Today was a busy day. I did day 2 of the Rookie Running Program (Plan on doing 2 more days at Week 1 since there was so much time between day 1 and day 2). I ran at a local park which was a little harder than the treadmill. Amazing how long a minute really is! In the afternoon I did some work in the yard. Ripped out a bush and tree from the saturated ground.

Tomorrow is going to be busy too. Heather has a field hockey game (Winter League). Girls have umpire training in afternoon. I'll go to game and Mom will take them to training. Maybe I'll get a workout in then.

Mission 300 – Failure is NOT an Option – 94 Days Left

Pounds to Go: 32
Days to Go: 94
Calories for Day: 2086
Exercise Calories: 500
Training Program: Week 1 – Day 1

Today was an interesting day. I made poor food choices – did not eat much but the choices were poor. emoticon I was going to start Mission 300 Sunday because I like things to start at the beginning of a week. But hey – why wait emoticon

This morning I weighed 331.x which rounds to 332. This is partly due to the high salt intake yesterday. emoticon

June 15th is my birthday. That’s my deadline. 94 days to go. emoticon

Today I ate 2086 mostly empty calories – that’s not going to get the job done. I walked the Fitness Trail at work twice (3.4 miles – 500 calories).

5K Rookie Running Program – I wanted to start last Saturday but I overestimated my available time. No excuses for this upcoming week.

Here’s the payoff for having to see 94 days of Mission 300 Posts. When I make my goal I’ll upload a video blog of me doing the happy dance! emoticon That is if I can figure out how to.

One day at a time! Keep on going! (And thanks for the inspirational blog title - it seems to be playing a part in my personal motto. Failure is not an option. Getting back up again and again is an option. I just have to tweak that saying a bit.)
