Almost one year

Wednesday, June 18, 2014

It has been almost one year since I have made changes in my life and the journey has been breath taking. I feel really wonderful and everyday I give God thanks because without Him there would be no me. I am really feeling wonderful and I cannot believe that I have so much energy. I pace a lot verses taking a seat. I am not really good at working out but i do water exercise for it. I have started doing some strength exercise that my son taught me and it really wears my arms out. That is what I want cause I want to get rid of the extra meat there. For a better word to use. Lol. emoticon

Changes

Sunday, July 21, 2013

I feel like the caterpillar going through the different stages of metamorphism. There is no turning back now and I am prepared for these changes. This past week have been great. In fact is has been so unreal for use of a better word. It is like me saying everyday, "Did I or did I? I am still in a stupor. As the coming weeks approach I know that I will hit bumps but for each one I hit I am prepared to brush myself off and keep going. The Lord has His hands wrapped around me ant that is the greatest encouragement I can every receive.
New life, here I come.

I read this somewhere, not sure who wrote it.

"How does one become a butterfly? she asked pensively.

"You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar."

I just love this quote, Hope you enjoy it also.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired!

Thursday, June 09, 2011

I have really had it of going between 286 and 294. This has been going on since January. I am really tired and very frustrated now. Just sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I did a lot of reading on calorie and nutrients. I even went back and looked at some of my past calorie tracking sheets. I was eating quite a lot of carbs. In fact, they overtook everything else.

Plan of action: Track everything I put in my mouth. This week I even learned how to look at the bottom of my calorie track sheet to see how much of each nutrients I am eating. That's how I found out about the carbs.

So I eliminated a lot of it and really kept on the right tract this week. I cannot wait to see what the scale is going to say on my weigh-in day which is Saturday.

I gave myself my motivated talk that no matter what the scales says on Saturday I am staying on track because I know how to eat now.

I've learned to look for non-scale victories, too. That makes the journey a continuation, not a stop and start over journey!

I think we all go through that phase where we stop tracking and find we're then off track! Good for you for monitoring your nutrition and learning what works for you.
You're right - no matter what the scale says, you DO know how to take care of you, and you are doing it.

The nutrition tracker really taught be so much. When I started I was having a hard time staying in limits with carbs and fat, and now I sometimes have a hard time getting enough. It's amazing how that changes when you see it all laid out like that.

You are on the right track - I am already feeling so much better now that I am monitoring these things (and MOST weeks the weight comes off too).

Hooked

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

Yesterday I had aquacise at 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. At work I found out that I had to go to a meeting at 7 pm. How am I going to do this. I have to go home and cook before class because I cannot do it after class.
After work I hurried home to cook oxtails, rice and steam cabbage with carrots and onions. While this is cooking I washed and driedtwo loads of clothes.
As I was leaving home at 5:30 I passed my husband in the drive way. Told him that dinner was ready but I had to leave.
I was water jogging at 5:45 pm. Did 45 mijnutes and then 30 minutes of water aerobics. I got to my meeting at 7:30 pm.
I am so hooked on this water aerobics that I cannot allow anything to dissuade me. It is now a part of my weekly routine.
Am I hooked or am I hooked?

I used to love to do water aerobics. I bought a new swimsuit to jump start going back to it. I was in the best shape when I did it.

Congrats to you for being so dedicated to doing the class, even though your schedule was really booked!
