My oldest daughter lives in Madison, AL - a city that is completely surrounded by Huntsville. She called me on her cell phone last night to have me pull up the Huntsville weather. Her power was out and she wanted to know how long the bad weather was going to last.
Many of the shingles on her roof were in her back yard. (Needless to say, there were leaks in the roof.) The hammock that was in her back yard was missing in action. The fairly new fence will need some repairs. BUT, my daughter, her husband and the grand-animals were all okay. And the rain tapered off not long after I spoke with her.
After watching the news this morning, I am very grateful that they made it through the bad weather. Yes, there will be a little aggravation getting my daughter's house back in order. But that's not so bad a price to pay considering how bad so many others had been affected by the weather.
