Computer Problems

Wednesday, June 02, 2010

I was going through all my emails and reading them. I must have opened one I didn't want to open, because I picked up some kind of virus. Luckily, I was able to do a system restore and this seems to have helped. I will have to insist that my husband buy an anti-virus program.

I am amazed at how much time I spend on the computer now that I belong to SparkPeople. I love reading articles, how others are doing, and keeping track of my nutrition and fitness. This really seems to be a great motivator for me.

new day

Tuesday, June 01, 2010

It's a new day and I'm trying to begin it on positive note. I'm thinking optimistically, which is good. I took my measurements. The only decrease I had was in my thighs. I'm going to have to study the exercises and see which one I can add. During my excercise workout, I really worked up a sweat this moring. My cool down was cut short by 5 minutes because I was tired. I will sit and chill for a few minutes before going on my outside walk. I'm trying to think of ways to excercise this winter . I will be in a colder climate, so I won't have the advantage of walking outside. So much to think about...

Goodbye

Monday, May 31, 2010

I got back from seeing both of my daughters - a little earlier than I wanted to. But they both have to work, so I had to let them bring me home. I did't want to say goodbye. My youngest is going back to Michigan tomorrow. I will be moving up there in a couple weeks so I will have to leave my oldest daughter in Alabama with her husband. My husband is in a crabby mood and not helping me cheer up at all. i don't think he realizes I'm sad. But, I will find stuff to do and continue on my exercising today. I've got a book from the library that I will start tonight.
I really could use some prayers today to get through the night.

Memorial Day - my first Spark People Holiday

Monday, May 31, 2010

I made it through Memorial Day eating right and getting my exercise in. I excercied a lot before I went to my daughter's house for a barbecue. Thank goodness she tries to eat healthy too! The burgers were turkey burgers. I did eat mine with a bun, but no cheese and mustard instead of ketchup. She had veggies sitting out. I steered clear of the chips and just had some veggies. We all went out and played a little basketball afterwards, so that made me feel better about eating the bun.
I was reading someone's blog, and something she said hit home. Most family gatherings DO center around the food. I am making a conscious decision right now to contribute a food that fits in my meal plan. I will not stand by the food with others and subconsciously pick at the food. And I will get the family to do one active thing toge ther. (or whoever in the family wants to do it.)
I'm lucky enough to have a big, loving, and supportive family. They have encouraged me and cheered me on each time I was on a diet. I'm going to make Spark People a plan, not a diet. This will assist me to not let the weight slowly creep back up on me.

Cornithians

Sunday, May 30, 2010

I think everyone has heard the passage from this book that begins "love is kind, love is patient, love is never boastful.." But do you think you apply this to your everyday life? I try to, but I know I need to work on it more.
