One Week Vacation

I'm now officially off until the Monday after Thanksgiving. Yes, I know I need the money. Yes, I know it's not fair that the supervisor picks and chooses who she wants to keep working and who she wants to give time off to. But, yes I am going to relax and make the most of the week. I had time at work to make a to-do list that I want to accomplish next week before my daughter comes into town. And I'm going to make the best of the week. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Unjust Criticism

At work, I enter data into the computer for a purchasing department. The expense account is already given to me and is not something that I was told to check. The buyers are supposed to come up with that number. One buyer must have been reminded to do so. Her office is right across from mine. I heard her loudly complain to everyone she talked to about how it was the "temp worker's fault" for not entering the right number. I don't even have access to the list of numbers, let alone know the categories well enough to correctly do it. I did fairly well letting it slide off my back until I was told that I don't have to come into work at all next week. There's always just a few of us that this happens to. But, I still know I did my best and will still continue to hold my head high. I'm just not very good yet with ruffled feathers.

Ups and Downs of Life

I try to ignore all the drama of the workplace, but sometimes it makes me a little sad that work life is that way. But, I'm proud of myself that I can let it slide and go with the flow (and stay out of the way). A year ago, I would have really let it get to me.

I'm starting to get excited about my daughter and son-in-law coming up for Thanksgiving. I just have a lot I want to accomplish before they get here. I will do what I can and not worry about the stuff that I can't get to.

I'm Not Perfect

It's good that I have become a little more thick-skinned as I have gotten older. The people at my temp job tend to be big on the criticisms and small on explaining what needs to be done. I know enough to not let things bother me and to switch what I am doing to meet their "needs". Are there workplaces out there that don't have communication problems?

I think there are some awesome places to work! (Mine being one!) BUT... I do think it is totally frustrating to work with people who are being critical and lack in communication skills... I agree with SONGOFJOY!! You are doing really well by letting it roll off of you and just doing your work! Great job!! Keep pursuing your life and your work and let the petty people just be......... I Had A Better Day

My day actually went smoothly so far. No stresses that I can think of. It's kinda scary - I'm so used to having some stress in my life that I'm not sure how to handle it. I guess I just sit back now and enjoy it!
