Still Stressed

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

I feel like my stress has carried over from yesterday. I got off work at 4 and didn't get home until a little after 6. I did the grocery shopping on the way home and it took me longer than I had anticipated. Then it was the usual routine of where to unload the groceries. Now I have two Avon boxes to open and separate and a Kohl's box of Christmas presents to put away. My back is already complaining! Tomorrow will be better!

One thing I am learning is to care about myself. Do what you can and finish what you can later. Take care of your back.

Stressful Day

Tuesday, November 09, 2010

I had a crazy busy day planned. I went to work early so I could leave early. I had a doctor appointment at 4:15, a hair appointment at 5:45 and another appointment at 7:30. When I got to the doctor's office, a lady and I realized we both had an appointment for the same time. When I questioned the receptionist, she got snotty with me and told me that I had made the appointment for 5. So, I waited. The doctor came out at 5:10 and started calling off names. No one got up. I mentioned that my appointment was at 5, so he took me in. When I came out, the receptionist told me I was very rude for going in front of other people. I tried to stick up for myself, but she just kept being snotty. It really rattled me.

The receptionist was rude, but let's hope she was just having a stressful day of her own and isn't usually like that. Sounds like you handled it well.

Can you talk to her supervisor? That was uncalled for. emoticon

I am not sure why the receptionist at Dr.s offices are like that. I have had a problem at times too.

Customer service is everything!! That receptionist needs to find a job behind "away" from people or get an attitude adjustment.

Take the high ground- you can reason with the unreasonable and it's not worth the health issues.

Let it go. It seems as though you were ok to go ahead as no one else seemed to be ready and you were past your appointment time. Next time, smile when you leave!

The receptionist was out of line in more then one way. But she will live and she has no power over you. Good for you that you stood up for yourself!

Scheduling Difficulties

Monday, November 08, 2010

Changing the time in the spring and fall always takes at least two weeks for me to get adjusted to it. Then I had to get to work early today. I had an appointment to get to, so I had to leave early. It was 6:30 pm before I got home. I will go through the same thing tomorrow. I will go to work early so I can get off early. I have a 4:15 appointment, a 6:00 appointment and a 7:30 appointment. It will be almost 9 before I will get home. Wednesday, I can go to work at my usual time but I have one appointment that night. Thursday, I will collapse! That's always how it works out - I either have nothing to do or everything happens together. Just go with the flow...what else can I do? Give me two weeks and things will be level again.

I like to "fall back" better than "spring forward". It was easier to get up this morning, but I hated driving home in the dark tonight.

It's funny how everything comes at once. Take care of yourself and try to get some me time so you don't become overwhelmed. emoticon

Early Thanksgiving Dinner

Sunday, November 07, 2010

I have a sister who won't be in town on Thanksgiving. So, she decided to have it early at her house today. It will be nice to just spend time with the family and it will also be nice to celebrate "thanks" twice. It's been a rough couple of years for me, but I am very grateful that I made it through. I have so much to be thankful for.

I love your post because it focuses on the THANKS in Thanksgiving, instead of worries about food. Thanksgiving does bring food temptation but you're right--we should remember that it's truly about gratitude and appreciation.

Eventful Day

Saturday, November 06, 2010

I went to church this morning. Three of the members became priests and another member became a deacon. This was the first time that I had been to a ceremony of this nature and I really enjoyed it. The reception was beautiful and joyous.

Afterward, I stopped at two arts and crafts sales at local churches. They put me into the Christmas spirit a little. Of all the items for sale, I ended up buying Christmas kitchen towels for the girls and a stocking for the grandkitty. I couldn't resist it. Now to find toys to fill it for Lulu. Well, there's no babies around anymore, so I might as well buy toys for someone!

Now I just need to get busy and clean the house and wrap some of the presents that I do have!
