Unmotivated

Today is a dreary day and I'm feeling unmotivated. Other than my exercises, I've gotten very little done. I may be coming down with a cold as I have had increased sleepiness and sneezing. It is only 6 PM and I am ready to call it a day and go to bed.

    Patricia,

I can so relate. Between the rainy, dreary weather here and not really needing to interact with others my depression has had me on the couch most of the last couple of days. I am going to try to make myself go to church, as I missed the last couple weeks and know I really need the support of my Christian family, so I can sucessfully transition into a new job or two.

Take a rest. Tomorrow is a new day & a new week.

    Patricia, it must be going around. Today was rough for me, and even walking, which I enjoy, was a chore, that I literally dragged myself around doing. I even had some moments of boo-hooing, so maybe a full moon coming? I hope you went to bed and will feel better rested tomorrow. emoticon

    If you are tired get some rest. I just read an article about how we don't get as much good, active rest that we should. Rest is what nourishes our activity!

Sleep

Sleep is almost as important as water if you are to be your healthiest. How much do you need? The average is 8 hours. The range is 5 - 10 hours for most adults. My rule of thumb for a healthy adult is to not use an alarm clock. The body will naturally awaken when it has enough sleep.

    I've never been a good sleeper...most nights I get between 5 and 6 hours.
I'll have to start paying more attention to this.

Water

Water is so important. I find that by drinking it, it satisfies more than my thirst. I'm glad on SP that there is a consistency about all the beneficial effects of water. Usually, I drink 10 or more cups a day. I encourage you to drink at least 8 cups a day, if you are not already doing so. If you don't like the taste of water, try putting a couple drops of lemon or lime in it.

    A couple of months ago I read somewhere that water does NOT help you lose weight. So guess what I stopped doing? Patricia, tell me it "ain't" so!!! It's in my head that it's not worth it, please change my mind.

    I have this big container that holds eight glasses plus, I fill it up each morning and drink all day until it is gone.

    Water is important that's for sure. Our water (we have town water & it comes from a lake) tastes terrible so I don't drink much of it. It bothers my stomach, too. I'm planning to buy a water filter for my kitchen faucet soon. I want to wean myself off of soda.

    I am a BIG water drinker as well. I try to do 8 full (12 oz) glasses a day. My exercise should include "running" to the bathroom!!!! :) LOL

Talk

Monday, January 18, 2010

Tonight's talk at the study club is on the Eucharist. I will be able to refer to my trip to Italy in 2007 where I saw 2 sites where miracles took place - Lanciano and Orvieto. I have lots of pictures and postcards to augment my talk. Wish me well.
