happiness on the scale today

Yeah, know, I should not get so attached to my scale, but I can't help but get excited when there is good news. As of this morning, I have lost 10.6 lbs since February 3! YES!!!

    Thank you for your comments on my blog today. I know I need to stop fixating on the scale so much, but this is what I am excited about today. I know when clothes start fitting better and I try things on at the store, that will be exciting too!!

    It IS easy to be attached to watching the numbers go down. You'll need to find other things to be excited about in addition, though, because when you hit your goal you'll lose the excitement of the scale and whatever else you found to be excited about will be what keeps you at goal.

good habits

While I was walking today, I got to thinking about habits, good and bad. So as to dwell on the positive, I thought I would list my good habits!
1. Walk 6 times a week for 9.5 years now!!!...rain, snow or shine!
2. Drink lots of water-at least 12 cups or more a day
3. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
4. Strength train 3 times a week
5. Ride exercise bike every day
6. Eat lots of chicken!!

Well, there may be more, but that is what I come up with now. A good list to start, I believe!

tracking 2

Well, the whole tracking thing started off good this week, but by wednesday, it fell apart. I had a big dinner at our church to cook for, and when I do these dinners, I run around like a chicken with my head chopped off and do not get to eat the way I normally do. I did not go crazy eating, but definitely not the way I would normally eat. Then our internet went on the fritz and I could not track today! UGH!! Well, tomorrow is a new day and I will be back here to track my food. I will do this for ME! I am worth it!

I have decided I need to start making goals for myself, one a week. So my goal for this week is to track everything I eat. I know this helps me stay on track. My problem is, I am eat too much while standing around, and then I don't pay as much attention to what goes in my mouth. So I need to work on that and write it all down. Here's to a good tracking week! Feel free to hold me accountable...PLEASE!

    There is nothing like tracking, whether it be food or money. It's the only way to remember exactly where you stand.

YEAH!!!! the numbers on the scale are still going down! I know I should not weigh myself so much, but I just can't seem to help it.
