Walking Goal

Monday, November 12, 2012

Well, here it is November already. I have logged 817 miles this year and have been contemplating shooting for 1000 by the end of the year. My problem is I would have to commit to spending a little more time walking than I already do. I walk with a friend and we try to walk for an hour each day. Unfortunately, she does not walk as fast as I do when I am alone. So I either need to push her harder or go for a separate walk, at least a couple times a week. Could I make it to 1000? I think I need to try!!!!!

I am strong!

Monday, November 05, 2012

Losing weight is not for the weak. I must and will stay strong and stay away from the foods that I know will trigger me to eat way more than I should. I know crackers and bread are that for me. I feel like I could eat endless amounts of these simple carbs and just keep on eating and eating. In order to reach my goal of 155 by my birthday, I will learn to eat these things in limited quantities or just stay away. I am strong!

feeling better

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Well, I have been doing much better for the last three days and I feel an excitement inside once again that I am going to do this...one day at a time! I am drinking a lot of hot tea, which helps me eat less. Most of the time I manage without adding sugar, but when I need it, it is just a tiny bit. I can do it! Thank you all for your comments and encouragements!

I will not give up!

Monday, October 29, 2012

Well, here it is, the end of October and I have gained instead of lost. So I am trying harder. I have to live with food the rest of my life and I am going to have control over it. I can not and will not continue to let it have control over me. My goal is to lose 10 lbs a month and to be down to my lowest weight from the last 5 years by the end of the year. I know I can do this and with God's help, I will! I will be obedient to Him when He urges with that still small voice to not eat unhealthy things. I started off at almost 300 lbs and I DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK EVER AGAIN!!!! Wow, I don't think I ever really admitted that to myself how much I actually weighed 6 years ago.

My weight goes up and down during the month, but the general trend is down, slowly. There are a lot of factors, right? I will never give up either. I have added a lot of healthy changes. My goal is one pound a month. Most Sparkers will probably laugh. I'm cheering for you.

You can do it....just fortify your determination and be consistent - every day. Get your workouts in, eat healthy food and you'll be on the right track. One of the biggest parts of the journey is making up your mind to just DO it, then sticking to it. After all....you ARE worth it. emoticon

Then help your body to help you. Cut out all added sugar and refined carbs. You will struggle for a week and then it is over. It is fantastic to be free from the sugar and refined carb monsters. I know because I have done it. Eat lots of steamed green veggs. You will learn a taste for it. Tell your mind that you love it. Add more and more. I find that now salivate when I see greens. Every thing can be overcome when your mind is set AND you help your body to help yourself. Too hard, you think? Then the question is how serious are you. He will not help you then, would He?
