new dress?

My daughter found this dress and little shrug for me. My hope was that I could wear it for Easter, but it didn't quite fit. I was all depressed because I really like the dress. After thinking about it, though, I thought why don't I just keep it for another month or so and work hard so it will fit me? So that is my goal by Mother's Day...to be able to fit in that dress!

the battle goes on

Well, I had a fabulous time on our brief get-away, but the diet did not fare so well. It seems once I tell myself that it is ok to eat a treat, I can't stop myself there. But today is a new day and I will stick to the plan . I so wanted a bowl of oatmeal today, but that is not part of my plan. Yea, I know it is healthy and could fit in my diet, but I have to stick to what I set out to do. (Now just talking about it, I realize I really wanted to have that bowl of oatmeal with butter and brown sugar on top...not so very healthy!) Anyway, just stepping back and giving myself some time to make wise food choices is a good thing. Perhaps I should do that more often! My goal is to lose 10 lbs this month.

Well, I made it through the weekend without doing any damage. Looking forward to a few days with my sisters, daughter and niece! We are all going to support each other in our weight loss efforts, so that should help me see some results on the scale

    AJennings-a tip for getting more water--buy yourself a pretty glass. I make myself drink at least 3-4 cups before I have my breakfast and then another 5-6 before I eat my lunch. That way, anything I drink in the afternoon is extra! You can do it!

    Great job! Weekends are usually the worst times for me. IDK why but I have the most trouble getting my water in and staying within my limits.

Today I wanted to eat chocolate or anything bad for me in the worst way. Then a song came to mind and I know God was telling me to not give in. The part that was going through my head..."each victory will help you some other to win. Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdued, look ever to JESUS, he will carry you through." That was enough for me to say no. Each time I do not give in to the temptations, it will make it that much easier to say no the next time, until it becomes second nature to me.

Mile test

I am so pumped! I just finished doing the minute mile walking test and for the first time ever since I have tracked my best mile, I scored in the "excellent" category!!! Woohoo! My time today for a mile was 14:36. Check out the walking test article on sparkpeople...the minute mile walking test
