Doing nothing

Doing nothing is not acceptable to me on my weight loss journey. Even tho I'm fluctuating between 1 to 2 lbs per week or maintaining I will continue to eat healthy and exercise. My well being is determined by these two things as well as others to keep my mind, body, and spirit in good shape.
I will be happy to get to blog on the weekends as my computer is now at the warehouse and I can pick it up this afternoon. My internet won't be ready until the 17th so I must be patient for another week.

Inches

I've lost 1 inch off my waist, 2 off my hips. It's taken me from August until now but at least it's a loss.
On another note, Bh's plans have changed for the weekend. He had planned to backpack all weekend but due to the weather, he's not. But we do have a hike planned for Sunday. I plan to walk with my walking buddy Saturday too, so the movement should be good.
Finally, at last, I ordered a laptop. So now I can Spark on the weekends too! I now feel like a technology guru. I know I have lots of learn about what all I can do with it but the first step is usually the most important. I can connect with old friends and family, a big plus.
Will make an appointment with my hair stylist for a new cut, color and highlights. That will be an upper also. Lots of things going on, hope I can keep up.

    What wonderful news losing inches. That is what I am working on now. I want to lose two inches on my stomach by my birthday in July. It will probably be closer to 1 but I figure I'll shoot for two. A new hairdo is always a pick me up. I hope you'll post pics. emoticon

Rainy weather, ruffled feathers

Rainy weather ruffles my feathers. Being a Spring and Summer person makes it hard when the weather is cold and rainy. I am aware we need the rain, a day or two is good, but continual rain gets me down. I think I will go shopping at lunch today as I've worked out Monday and Tuesday and need a break. I'm also going to have something hot for lunch, maybe a Weight Watchers Smart Ones, Three Cheese Ziti, my favorite. That should help me perk up. I know you shouldn't use food as a picker-upper for your mood, but that Ziti is a good meal. Had Weight Watchers weigh in and had lost .4 so that's an upper. How many Sparkers get down due to the weather? Have a good day. emoticon

    Im with you, but being a 'Zonie you cant expect anything else. No rain here in a long time and have to say I miss it. We are in for some hot weather this week...in the 80s and think this is too soon, but with what others are having I guess I shouldnt complain. Sending you some sunshine!

Harrah's Cherokee Casino in Cherokee, NC opened a new hotel recently and added a Paula Deen's Restaurant. My daughter, who works at Harrah's took me and a friend to the restaurant yesterday. It was good. Had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, collard greens, cheese biscuit (just 1) and cheese cake and fried oreo's. Just 1 fried oreo and a bite of cheesecake. We shared the dessert. So, I didn't deprive myself. Feeling positive today and will weigh in in the morning for Weight Watchers. No matter what the scale says, I feel good about myself and will keep the positive attitude.     I didn't know she had a restaurant anywhere but Savannah, Ga. Of course, I haven't been there either. Your dinner sounds awesome and I'm glad you didn't deprive yourself!!! I also have some of her cookware and love it. Never tried a fried oreo but can't imagine it not being good!

    Paula Dean has some great recipes too, also has some lovely cookware available. I'm curious, how was the fried oreo? I saw them at a county fair, but didn't have the calories to try it.

So, I've been a little negative recently but I'm trying hard to get back on the positive track for the weekend and next week. 6 days to go for Weight Watchers weigh in. 6 days, I can lose in that amount of time. Will double my efforts. I have slacked up a bit on the water drinking so I will make an honest effort to drink my 8. Another thing I will try to do is eat lots, and lots, of fruit and veggies. Just the standard things I need to do to lose. I usually get plenty of exercise so I won't have to make a big effort to increase that. How are you doing on your journey.     Good for you~ positively fresh. Happy thoughts. Fresh fruits and veggies. Ahhhhh....fresh water. We shouldn't talk about how I am doing. Have the water drinking down pat and then SOME, SOME, SOME, MORE! HA! As for the eating, well fresh oranges, apples, and eggs, are about it. When the funds aren't there, the shopping doesn't happen. When I do shop it is with my daughter in mind, as most of her foods must come from a Health food store. She gets the Meat & Potatoes(so to speak), and my hubby & I~ just consume enough to exist. That wasn't the case at all prior to my fall; however I was the sole grocery provider, and always had been. 1 pay check truly wont cover all, yet it is too much to qualify for assistance. Craziness.

Rooting for you my dear!!!! Smiling in my heart~I am proud of you, truly I am.

    I drink water on a schedule! You know how if you water your plants too much at one time all the excess water comes out? And if you don't do it enough the poor thing starts to wilt! Just like I water my plants I water myself!

Here's my schedule

6am: 8oz with First Breakfast
8am: 12oz with Second Breakfast
10am: 12oz with Snack
12pm: 12oz with Lunch
2:pm: 12oz with Snack
4pm: 12 oz with Snack

By the end of my workday I'm already at my minimum! Anything more I drink is above and beyond :)
