Today is a new month and one can start fresh

Tuesday, March 01, 2011

March 1st. New month. February is over and March is beginning. Time to look back on February and make new goals. My February was slow but I managed to maintain. My goals for March is to lose 3 or 4 lbs and be through Spring cleaning by the end of the month. That seems to be two moderate goals. My reward will be a pedicure and manicure. Spring is a time to start fresh. Have a good day.

Wow, where did the weekend go

Monday, February 28, 2011

I blinked and the weekend was over. Stayed busy with friends and family so I didn't get a chance to set down and think about eating. I did go out to eat with a friend and a movie but ate 6 oz steak, steamed veggies and a salad with just a bit of dressing. Went to a new church and learned a new way to worship God. Went walking but only got in four laps, about 1 1/2 miles before it started to rain on us. Needless to say I didn't get in much house cleaning, just a bit, but I enjoyed the weekend doing the fun things rather than being stuck in the house. Oh well, it's another day and I can clean today. It's extremely warm here in Western North Carolina, supposed to get to 70 today but dropping down to 58 tomorrow. So, I realize winter isn't over yet but have sure enjoyed beautiful weather for three or four days. Hope all you Sparkers had a good weekend and up and running this morning. Have a good day and Keep Sparking.

Hi~ emoticon How wonderful that you had a busy, enjoyable weekend. Looks to me like you are truly working on getting out and conquering exactly what your spark page intro talks about. I am proud of you~happy for you, better stated.

Wow your weather....incredible. I have to agree with Playblues22....envy~I second that! It is COLD IN KANSAS! Even with the sun shining, the winds of this state make what would be a nice winter day....bitter to the bone. Think California might be a great place to live~ emoticon emoticon
You have the "RIGHT IDEA."

May your week be as wonderful as you weekend dear friend. THank you for sharing this light hearted blog about your fast moving weekend. Slow down that BLINKING, we don't want life to pass by TOO FAST~ AGREE???? emoticon emoticon emoticon

Party, dentist and another Party tonight

Friday, February 25, 2011

Had a dental appointment this morning. One of the guys retired here a work and we had a breakfast for him. DId really well on the bicuit, egg and bacon. Only ate about half of it. Have another party tonnight but as I get stronger and stronger on being able to resist the tempting foods, I think I can do good at it too. Hoping the partying will be over for awhile. Hope all of you have a good weekend. Keep Sparking. emoticon

The donut called by name

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Woe is me. We had a meeting this morning and there were free donuts. If you have read any of my previous blogs you know my company provides lots of food for meetings. So, I ate a donut. But I feel I didn't blow it for the day. I still have 17 points left for dinner. 600 calories. So I think I can keep within that number for the rest of the day and dinner. I have already figured up my lunch so it's included in the numbers already. If there had been some other healthy food choice I think I would have been strong and chose some of it, but donuts were the only option. I plan on walking on lunch break so I will walk off a few calories. Have a good and make healthy choices.

Donuts happen. It's okay. One is always better than two.

One donut does not a day ruin. You've proved it!

Is there someone you can talk to about providing healthier options for meetings? Usually it's more of an issue of the person ordering being in a rut and not an issue of equaly priced options or availability.

You can do it, keep up the positive attitude for the rest of the day. I love how easy it is to plan meals based on number of calories remaining. That way you CAN "slip" or eat something that isn't technically a great choice, and still keep within your range! Good for you! emoticon

3 more to go

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

One of my mini goals require me to lose 3 lbs. There's 5 weeks in March so I should be there by March 23rd. That gives me 3 weeks to lose and I think I can do it. I'll tell myself emoticon and work hard on ways to accomplish that.
When I look back 1 1/2 years ago, I see I've actually lost about 15 lbs. I know that is a low number but anything is better than nothing. I'm striving to lose a 1/2 to 1 lb per week. Whew, I feel like it will take forever to lose this last 23 lbs, but I have plenty of time to do that. I'm not going to rush it as when I set my goals too high I get discouraged easily.
Went for a 2 mile walk on lunch hour with the BH today. That was fun. We've starting walking together in the last couple of weeks as we both work at the same place. So, now I have my regular 2 workout buddies, (they have not been doing much lately, can't seem to motivate them) my workout buddy near home and now the BH. I'm blessed this way and I do appreciate their company.
Have a good day Sparkers.
