Taking time

I tend to get in a hurry a lot and I know I miss out on some of the simple things I don't need to take for granted. I cleaned out the spice drawer yesterday and and to throw lots of them out. Don't know why I hadn't taken the time to notice the date of expiration and replaced those out of date. I had also bought two or more of the same thing and I don't know why I didn't check before buying more to see if I already had some. Sometimes I feel it's going to take lots of time to do something so I tend to not do it or get in a rush and make mistakes, etc . That's a habit I have gotten into, getting in a rush, etc. Must slow down. As a matter of fact I'm in a hurry to get this blog done so I can go to lunch, so it might not make sense. LOL.

    I have found what we missed was not that important. The older I get the less I worry. Being a perfectionist is a royal pain and I am so glad I got out of that stage.

    They aren.t as strong at the expiration date, but I just use more instead of throwing them away. I guess I'm just cheap.

    I have spices that are decades old. I can't bring myself to toss them because I like the older containers. Gotta get a plan!

This day passed fast

This day has flown by and Monday will be here shortly. It went good today for me. I did get to walk about 40 minutes. The weather has cooled down some especially at night and in the morning. Really pretty weather here in Western North Carolina. Hope you have a good night and a good Monday morning.

Early to rise

Woke up around 4 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. It's been a productive morning tho and I have gotten a lot of things done. Hope you have a good day and have some fun this weekend. It will be back to work on Monday before we know it.

    It's going around. I woke up at 3:30 after going to bed at 11:30. After an hour of trying to go back to sleep I got up, and this has been a very productive, active day. I had to wait until 6:40 to take the dogs for a walk (2.2 miles) but the sun was still not up when we got back.

Glad you had a good day in spite of the early start.

Chuck roast be gone

I am going to fix a chuck roast for the weekend. But it is not filled with a lot of fat so I can have a few bites of it. 4 or 5 only. Just read a blog about fat and chuck roast was mentioned as one of the items that has a lot of fat in it. If I can get it together, I might not have any at all. IT will depend on how bad I want it and if I feel like I'm depriving myself I will have a little bit. Otherwise I will let it go. Will let you guys know if I do or do not. Not much going on here at the office. I'm glad we're having a quiet day as we need one. Continue to Spark and have a great weekend.

    If you trim the fat a small amount eill not ruin your program.

    When my hubby wants pot roast, I often have one ounce of it, a small potato, several carrots, and an onion. Sometimes I cook celery or green beans in with it, too. I usually add either fat free cottage cheese(which he'd never eat) or low sodium pinto beans (which occasionally he eats) to get enough protein. We are both happy with that. London broil is a lower fat beef. Sirloin is about the lowest fat steak, if I remember right. Take care and enjoy whatever you decide to eat!! -Marsha

    A small portion of chuck roast is ok - jsut watch your total for the day. Round it out with lots of veggies and you will be fine!

    Letting it cool in the fridge will harden the fat so you can toss it out.
