Biker Chic!

Sunday, June 15, 2008

I am so absolutely, fantastically, elated to announce I finally rode my bike to work. I had been working out alot at home and walking. But, I really wanted to feel confident enough to ride my bike to work. I have made every excuse in the book not to ride. This morning I awoke @ 430 a.m. so that I would be up to pack and be able to leave early enough to get to work on time. Plus I made sure to say a little prayer before striking out on the road. The ride was much easier than I expected. The temperature was 69 and perfect. There was not much traffic. It was so great. I feel like I have really accomplished alot the last few weeks. Things are falling into place. The workouts are hard and the diet is challenging. But it is all so worth it. Today is a GOOD DAY. emoticon

Congratulations on a great accomplishment. You should be proud of yourself! It feels good when things start falling into place and we start to see the rewards of improving our healthy by eating better and exercise. Makes all the hard work worthwhile, doesn't it?

Not a Morning Person : (

Monday, June 09, 2008

I am so proud of myself today for getting up 30 minutes before I normally rise to get ready for work. It was my intention to get up early enough to get in a good workout early in the day so that I won't have to worry if I miss out on working out later. Great idea, right? Well, I did 10 minutes of stretching. I felt pretty good with this. Then I hopped on my elliptical, turned on my tunes and began my workout. Whew.....Good Golly. I really don't seem to have the same energy as I have in the evenings. Usually I can workout 30 minutes an feel really great after. But this morning, 15 minutes was all I could take. I still felt pretty good but was a little disappointed. I am typically good at pushing myself. Believe me it was a push to get in those 15 minutes. I've read, some people just don't do well working out in the morning. Maybe I am one of those "some people". I love mornings. I love the quiet of mornings. However, until I just threw my body into shock this morning, mornings was always my chill time, my take it easy time. I will try a few times more and see how I like working out early. I'm sure I will go back to working out late. Besides, I don't get enough sleep anyway. I could go to sleep earlier at probably not. emoticon

You sound like me. I am not a morning person at all and I can't even get my butt up early enough to workout. After you've tried it a few more times let us non-morning people know if it gets any Good luck!

Off Kilter Today (Ha!)

Saturday, June 07, 2008

I got off shift this a.m. and came straight in to work 12hrs @ my PTJ. Sucks. I guess thats enough to give anyone a bad day. I wouldn't say my day is really that bad. I just feel so run down. I thought I would write positive things to lift my spirits today.
1. I am really eating healthy (most of the time).
2. I am working out alot more. I have good workout days and bad ones. Some days when I start my workout I think I can go on forever and I feel really good. And, other times, it is such struggle to get in my alloted time.
3. I have lost 11 lbs so far.
4. My clothes fit and look much better on me.
5. I am saving money by making my meals and taking food to work instead of eating out as often as I used to.
6. I am finding new friends on Spark!
7. I have more energy and feel stronger since Spark.

I am sure there is much, much more. I am too tired to list them all.

Contessa, I am so proud of you. You have a plan and when you have a plan, a goal, a focus point then you know you're going in the right direction. You are a WINNER, because you have set your mind to do this and you have allowed the inner strength to enable you to push forward. Even tired you continue. You see the rewards that you are alrady reaping and there is only more to come. God bless, Ginny

Today I weighed myself for the first time. I was so excited to learn I have lost 5.5 lbs. I knew my clothes fit a little better, but weight, on me, can be such a rollercoaster, so I didn't even want to check and get discouraged with the results. However, I did and was I surprised....WOW!
