Feed A Cold?

Tuesday, March 19, 2013

I have had a cold and sinus infection for the last 5 days. I am on antibiotics, and am starting to feel alittle better, but I ache! I'm finding it very hard not to comfort myself with food! Even though I haven't gone over my count, I find myself hunting food that will make me feel better. Mainly chocolate and carbs.
How do the rest of you handle this? I need some pointers!

I have had the sme thing. .Takes a while to get over it. I use tea and chicken soup. Both are comforting. . I use real honey in my tea . .It is good for the throat. Don't forget the yogurt since you are on antibodics. Hope this helps. I also like chai tea because of the spices it has . .

Irish Step Dancing

Friday, February 05, 2010

I thought I'd share this little story about my grandson who is five. The other day when my daughter went to drop him off at the sitters, she didn't realize it was a little icy. As Nolan went up the walk, he slid and almost fell. Joy started up and slid too and exclaimed, "It's icy!" Nolan looked at her and said, "Well, didn't you see Me doing the Irish step-dance?" My daughter just broke up! Afterward she asked him where he had even heard of Irish step-dancing. "Sesame Street," he said. So, you never know. Kids do say the darndest things! And, if it is icy out, don't be doing any dancing!LOL!

Doing OK!

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Well, starting to feel alot better. Still have a couple more weeks to go till I can get back to normal, but doing OK! Went to my brother's birthday yesterday. Got to see all my grandkids so that was alot of fun. Since I can't babysit for a while longer, I don't get to see them quite as often. I needed a fix!LOL! Not doing so well with my diet. Got off over the holiday and since I can't exercise much that is not helping! Need to get back to tracking and drinking my water. Now to get back to that mind set!!LOL! Hope you all are doing alot better!

Glad you are starting to feel better and got to see the grandkids. That always makes me feel better. Just start back by changing one thing at a time...doing it gradually and before you know it you will be right back in the swing of things.
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

I'm back!

Monday, December 21, 2009

Well, got through the surgery Ok, although very sore and get tired easy. He called me a couple days ago and they found no sign of cancer anywhere. Not even the small mass!! Needless to say, miracles still occur and I was blessed with one! I go tomorrow to get some staples out and I'll get some more info, but he said consider this my early Christmas present. Thanks so much all of you for your prayers, because I do think it made a big difference! I will be unable to do too much for some time, but still watching the diet and even lost a few lbs! I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas or holiday. Take care everyone and if you haven't lately, get your pap test!

Update

Wednesday, December 09, 2009

Just an update on what has been going on with me. I went for an ultrasound and biopsy and because they couldn't see the small mass well enough to biopsy I am scheduled for a hysterectomy tomorrow. Hopefully this will tell one way or the other. All the other tests came back OK. I am a little concerned about how I will do after, because of my knee and hip, but I am going to think positive! I will be in the hospital for a few days, and I will let you know how things go. Thanks again for your wonderful support. Hugs!
