Tomorrow i'm starting a new regime of the 30 day shred, i'm going to groom, and moisturise, drink plenty of water, and look after myself!

They are a tiresome bothersome lot. But we love them.

My father always told me never to stay in someone's house longer than a piece of fish would stay fresh. so 2-3 days. I always countered with refrigeration techniques which would keep a fish fresh for up to a week, and he replied that I should employ techniques of my own- helping with the food shopping, taking my hosts out to dinner, tidying up after myself and brining a gift.

We have a guest at the moment, and today is day 4. And there is no fridge in his case.
My living rom workouts are on hold and i'm fitting in smaller exercises in other places, like at my desk, or swimming, but the Shred is on Hold, Again!

Sadly, when our guest leaves (tomorrow) I also lose my other half for ten days, so will try to fit in lots of workouts before my little sister arrive on Saturday!

No rest for the Wicked!

So, I'm going to a waterpark today.

Good thing is that although there will be plenty of bikini clad bodies, it is appropriate for me to cover up as we are in the Middle East and there are lots of staring eyes but it's also hot...very hot. So i don't want to get burned.

It does make me think of being able to run around in a skimpy bikini though.

So I'm starting and stopping and starting and stopping on the 30 day shred. Something always seems to get in the way, be it housework, work work, or illnesses that creep up in the hour before i'm due to work out.

How do you stay motivated when your body and brain are telling you to rest?

    If your body is craving rest...rest! It is just as important. I am currently doing 30 Day Shred too. Some days, I do levels 1 & 2. Some days, I only do level 1. As TurtleRae points out, do what you can and when you can or do another DVD altogether. emoticon emoticon

    Maybe this particular exercise program isn't a good fit for you?? Maybe try some other type of exercise for 30 minutes a day 5 days a week versus every day for 30 days. That way you'll have a cushion for days that you can't do the workout versus feeling guilty that you didn't stick with it for all 30 days??

    There are 24 usable hours in every day (; That's what I always try to tell myself, but as you know, I'm kind of a procrastinator then I get lazy.

  That's a good idea. But honestly, I spend more than 20 minutes a day deciding what to order for lunch! It shouldn't be so mind warping to get up for a 20 minute shred!

Maintenance

So, what does this word mean to you?

Making sure the walls are painted? Keeping the oven cleaned regularly, bleaching your whites every six months?

I've applied it to myself. I'm going to Maintain myself.

I'm going to make small changes, like having carrot sticks, soup, and vegetable chilli in the fridge for post-work cravings.

I'm going to always have a bottle of water to hand to keep me hydrated. And i'm seeing a physio once a week to make sure that everything is ticking in the right order.

Looking after yourself means so much more than when you start making changes, all those nagging health issues that you will "take care of later", do it now. one a month. start your own maintenance.
