So...I was roaming through the boards here and I found a beginner runners group... so I joined...now I believe I am going to be a runner and have myself convinced to do a 21km (13 mile) half marathon next June.
So I began my "training" with a program called "Couch to 5km" in 8 weeks.
Well...it looks easier on paper is all I can say right now. I was so dissappointed with my first attmept that I had to try it again tonight...slightly better...but not really.
Its a 5 minute warm up at 3.6 on the treadmill then 2 minutes at 6.0 then walk for 2 minuteds at 3.5/3.6 then run for 2 minutes at 6.0 etc...all together there is 8 minutes of jogging in the 20 minute work out...longest freaking 8 minutes of my life!...only made about 7 of the 8 minutes and now I am seriously thinking about pouring myself a nice stiff drink and slipping into a blissful coma.
What have I gotten myself into?
Weird thing is as soon as I "recover" I get the urge to try er again...ahhh....

4 weeks today until we leave for Mexico!
Goal - 180
Start weight 194.5

General diet outline-
wake up 7:15
get kids to school...

breakfast -8 am- cold cereal & skim milk ( mini wheats with flax seed sprinkled on top)
treadmill 9:30- 20 - 30 minutes - drink water (1 litre bottle)
lunch - veggie soup & yougert
3 o'clock snack - orange /apple/fruit of some sort/ carrots and dip (dip = fat free sour cream with "Uncle Dans" ranch powder mixed in...yum!)
Supper- before 6pm- stirfry 3 times a week- salad at every meal, meat 3 times a week max.
let kids make fat free pudding for dessert .

***No eating after 6:30 pm except water/ or tea.****

OK...here we go...
