Coffee coffee coffee

Thursday, February 28, 2008

This is essentially me at work every day. I try to resist, but always end up giving in. A couple of months ago I was able to 'give up' coffee for over a month, but "one small cup" led back into my full-blown habit. Ugh. If anyone that has waylaid the coffee successfully has any tips, please share!

3 mornings of exercise in a row. Woo!

I love coffee, but I limit myself to 2 cups a day and only before 10am. I just set boundaries, and enjoy my two cups.

Well I don't know how to kick the coffee habit because I love it too. I drink it in moderation. WTG on the exercise!

The stars aligned...

...and I actually did a spot of exercise this morning. Just ten minutes on my CardioGlider machine, but I could really feel it in my arms! I know ten minutes is pathetic in comparision to the rest of you goddesses, but if I can just start with doing this every day once or twice a day I should be feeling pretty good.

I've been struggling with my veganism a lot lately. I'm blaming the Girl Scouts. Damn you and your cookies! But, seriously, I can't seem to stay away from the sweets. My beloved Gillian McKeith has a new book out with a detox plan which I may give a whirl soon to see if that helps to wean me off SugarOverload.

My scale's battery is dead and will not be replaced until I get paid again (this Saturday) and I've been going up the wall not knowing what I weigh. I'm not expecting a nice number.

I should try and update more than once a month. Maybe.

Uh, hi!

I've really been neglecting SparkPeople for a while now. First, huge apologies to RDEPASS and all of the Buddhists team. I'm sorry I haven't been a mindful moderator. I'm going to try and pop in a lot more frequently.

I've been mostly reading all of my Spark Pals' blogs and checking in on their progress but haven't done much on my own. Updates on life -- In late August, I broke off what I now realize was a very unhappy and unhealthy relationship for both parties, and I've been dating someone very special who makes me ridiculously happy and whom I can make happy in return. I feel like I haven't changed my eating and exercise habits much, but somewhere in the course of this new relationship I dropped about 10 pounds. I guess we all knew happiness is the best key to weight loss!

I'd like to get back on track in regards to eating healthfully and maintaining a consistent exercise routine. I know realistically I won't be able to log in here every day, but I'm going to do the best I can. (Did I mention they took my internet access away at work? Ha!)

By the way, everyone looks so great! Congratulations to you :)

Oh Deanna! It's great to see you and no apologies necessary! I am SO glad to hear you are in a healthy and happy relationship! and congrats on the 'accidental weight loss' LOL! I have stagnated at my current weight - but I also have not been tracking my food, etc. - I am so into my karate now - I can't believe it took me 48 years to find the passion in my life! I do try to get by the Buddhist team page daily and I don't always make it - We have three leaders now - and if it seems like we need more - I think I can add them - so don't worry! Glad you are happy!

-Finally- got my ass out the door last night to start the Couch to 5k again. I was kind of annoyed to be listening to Robert's podcast for week one for the nth time, but I'm glad I didn't just skip ahead to week 2 because it's obvious my body was not ready for it.

Running at night is fun but I have the worst night vision ever. A lot of the sidewalks I run down are lacking in street lights so there were a couple of times I tripped and nearly face-planted myself on the pavement. Also, my glasses have a hard time staying on my face and I still hate those stupid earbuds since they won't stay in my ears. ...But I'm gonna keep at it! I want to be a runner. I want to be healthy.

Picked up Dr. Neal Barnard's Program for Reversing Diabetes today, also. I'm not diabetic yet, but I'm sure if I continue living the way I do it wouldn't be long.

State of the Union

Okay, my UTI has cleared up, my dog no longer seems to be at death's door... so I'm out of excuses not to run. Well, aside from that it's been feeling like a million degress out lately, but hey I can run at night.

Alright--running, yoga, eating less packaged foods, and more fruits and vegetables. Think positive. Go!

You guys rock, by the way.

Salud,
Deanna
