Today I feel blessed for our Armed Forces and feel sad for all the lives lost and the heartache of the families affected by the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Today I am feeling the blessing of only having to go into my town, rather than driving over an hour to Springfield for dh's checkup appt...it's snowing and slick. Those from down south realize the seriousness of 1 inch of snow in an area that seldom gets it.

Also blessed with the ability to search the web to find very interesting information.

I am truly blessed to have been born in the USA and not some third world country that has so little to offer it's people. I DO pray for a more honest and compassionate government leadership. I am also blessed to take a small part in voting for such a candidate.

So blessed to have been brought to this little MO town that has a tiny little Catholic church which has people from here but mostly transplants who now are like FAMILY.

The weather prediction is for our first big "event" of the year between today and tomorrow. It is supposed to be a rain and snow mix. I am blessed to have a nice little home with a fireplace and plenty of wood. Wood comes pretty easily considering we are surrounded by oaks and hickory. The rain has just started!

I remember burning oak. It burns for hours! When we moved up here, all we have is pine and it burns very fast! :( The fire doesn't last all night like it did with oak. Beautiful living room! I am blessed with a large, caring, loving family...in other cities! While this is a comical sign hanging on my wall in the kitchen it is exactly what I have.

Three of my children and fams living in the Chicago area with one in Long Beach, CA, a step dd (from my first marriage) and fam in Sycamore, IL, my dh's 3 children and fam's in Lincoln, NE, a son and fam in Burlington, IA and a dd in Geneseo, IL. And the true blessing is that they are all healthy and happy and I hear from each of them monthly if not daily. Life is good. God is good!
