I have to get healthy

Sunday, February 10, 2013

About a month ago I went to the hospital with low blood pressure . I stayed 2 days and got a ekg, echo, and a cardio done. I still havent got any answers I cant get the hospital to send my test results to the doctor I choose to go to or to give it to me.

I weight 251 lbs almost my highest weight ever. I have to figure out how to lose weight without doing exercise until I can get cleared from my doctor. When I much moving my blood pressure goes way down.

I have to figure out how to have enough will power to not let my family sabotage my eating habits . My husband is horrible about trying to force me to eat food that isnt the best for me . So starting today I'm going to do what I need to to get health even if it doesnt make him happy.

You can do it! It will be harder without your family supporting you but you can get support from us here on SP!

BTW, I have the same problem as you - low blood pressure - very low resting pulse. Go to the hospital and sign a release form or ask for a physical copy of your test results. This is what I had to do. They cannot refuse to give you a copy.

For most people losing weight is about 80% nutrition and 20% exercise. I remember my first WW instructor telling us that you'll still lose weight and reach your goal without exercise, however with exercise you'll feel better and be more toned, and lose more quickly.

Maybe try doing small things like short walks if you can, or some chair exercises...just a little something until you can find out what's going on medically and be cleared to do more.

Good luck!

I understand the challenge that lack of support for eating changes in the home create. Almost like the other doesn't want any changes. You can work through it, just harder.

I got a body media and it tels me a lot . One thing is I never sleep more then 4 hours even when I last in the bed for 12. I won't live without it either.

Love my body media. I have sleeping issues; my body media makes it easy to talk to my doctor about my sleep problems. Never plan on ever living without one again. Makes life so much easier. I track my calories and exercise on Spark then register my calories on the body media website.

I just purchased the BodyMedia and got it in the mail yesterday. I'm loving it. So far it has tracked ever single calorie that I am burning and I think it's so cool that it picks up accurately when I start moving and lets me know when I have reach my target calories burned for the day. Plus, knowing the amount of calories that I burn while I'm sleeping is pretty cool also. I do know that the BodyMedia is a slightly updated version of the bodybugg but basically does the same thing. However, the BodyMedia is cheaper and is currently on sale on their website bodymedia.com, plus if you use the SparkPeople discount you get an additional 25% off.

Well hope this helps, let me know which way you decide to go.

I wear my a body bugg SP and I absolutely love it. The only time I take it off is for shower and to charge it. For me it makes me work harder at reaching my goals because if I half-a## do my work out, it'll give me the calorie burn but not the activity. From what I understand it will only show activity when your heart rate is reaches a certain level. I like the SP because I can look at the app on my phone anytime during the day and see exactly where I am for the day. I dont know anyone with the Body media so I can give you any feed back on that. I hope this is of some help and always KEEP IT MOVING

I have heard they are pretty much the same thing....except the body media is cheaper and logs something about your sleep, I have the bugg and love it. I remove mine during sleep time so that part didnt effect me. Funissa, GI Carrie and Mouster have the body media, Angelbleu and I have the bodybugg (Evilsinmyblood has one of them). Not sure who still uses theres, I left mine at a friends and has been without it for almost 2 weeks. But I normally wear it daily.

My highest weight and a picture

Monday, October 31, 2011

I have had a bad weekend every since I found this picture. I had no idea I looked this bad to people.

This is my new plan to start getting healthy .

1. I have to figure out a way to get rid of my stress.
2. I have to hold my own when people try to get me to eat unhealth things.
3. I have to start tracking food and exercise.
4. I have to start walking a mile a day.
5. I hace to put me first.

You don't look so bad! But....if you want to see someone who looked bad, check out some of the pictures on my page...horrendous. I guess we all look worst to ourselves. Obesity does terrible things to our self esteem.

I realized today that I can do ANYTHING i set my mind to...ANYTHING! Okay, I will never be young again, or win the Miss America title, but I lost 189 lbs., so now I have confidence in myself again. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

I can walk a mile its just not as fast as others but I figure I will do the distance and in time get faster.

Thanks you all for supporting me when I need it . I have lost 3.8 lns this week. I know I can and will do this.

Oh hun I so remember the day I saw a pic of myself all I can say is my mirror is much friendlier to me than my camera. I have to agree with the others to make it an I will and find ways to include exercise into your normal daily routine (like if your up and moving and playing with the kids that gets your heart rate up). Exercise was the hardest for me and honestly most days it still is even though I found stuff I love to do. Remember we are all here for ya.

Shift the focus to what you CAN do and to your good attributes.

Keep looking for ways to improve your health. Don't beat yourself up. Don't let the focus be only on what you don't like.

You have wonderful qualities and you need to remember those while you're on your journey.

You've got great goals set. Spark is a wonderful place for encouragement and information about healthy choices. Just keep going. Every step forward takes us closer to meeting our goals!

That's a great list of goals which can become even greater if you replace "have to" with "will". I'll do this for you:

1. I WILL figure out a way to get rid of my stress.
2. I WILL hold my own when people try to get me to eat unhealth things.
3. I WILL start tracking food and exercise.
4. I WILL start walking a mile a day.
5. I WILL put me first.

Much better! Knowing what you have to do and actually doing it are two very different things, believe me. Now, all you must do is make a plan for each and every one of these goals. Stay focused, log in here everyday, ask for support when you need it, find out what motivates you the most, follow your plan and you'll be celebrating your success in no time.
You can do this! Yes, you CAN!

Great goals to have! Altho I must say, as friendly as possible, that a mile a day seems like a lot if ur first starting to exercise. The easier, and more realistic, ur goals are at first, the more successes u will have and the more self-confidence it will build. U can do this!

The Power for a Better Life by Jeanne Lively Alcott

Monday, July 11, 2011

I'm just starting to read Chapter 1. I have decided to read Chapter 1 every morning to start my day. On Friday's I will move to the next chapter.

The first chapter tells you that you have the power inside you to be whatever you want to be you just have to use the power. At the end of the chapter you tell bout how your day was. So I'm going to start today by saying what my issues are.

1. Not believing in myself or trusting myself to do what I need to do for me.
2. Not trusting others and believing I have good friends and family. I just have to let them in.
3. I have to pay better attention to my finances and make them manageable.,
4. I have to eat when I'm stressed and do what I need to do to be health.
5. Not letting others push me around to make me do what they want.

Everyday I'm going to write how my day went in my power to live a happier life.
