Nothing to report today. Didn't do treadmill or strength training today. Counted my trudge up the hill this morning to ds' bus stop. Off to bed so I can hit the treadmill in the morning.

It was a day-on-the-go today. Not a super "sparky" day, but I did get a mini-meal at McDs instead of a value meal! At least I was trying to be a little more conscious of my choice.

Since the day has been so crazy, I'm going to have to get over myself and exercise on the treadmill in front of dh. I really, really dislike exercising with an audience, but I've got to get my exercise minutes in today - and my miles, since I committed to the February challenge in one of my groups.

ETA: I forgot today was a strength day, so I whipped out the dumbbells after my blog entry, and exercised while the kids played in the living room.

35 minutes on the treadmill at an average of 3mph. Meeting my exercise goals for time, but not calories burned. I'm not sure how to go about that. I think for now I just need to focus on the consistency of daily exercise.

    One step at a time, you will get stronger. Stick with it! You may not notice progress at first and get discouraged, but stick with it and the habit will set in. Good luck on your journey.
I used to be you and now I am in the intermediate phase of exercising habits. Some of the things that helped me at the beginning of my journey were:

Making an appointment on the calendar. Sparkpeople even has a planner under tools where you can set up appointments and SP sends you an email reminder. If you make your fitness goals an appointment, be it on paper or on your computer, you are more likely to buget your time to include that time for yourself.

It sounds silly, but I started with small changes to my every day habits. I parked in the farthest parking stall from stores instead of circling the parking lot several times to find the closest possible stall. I took the stairs instead of the elevator. I played at the park with my kids instead of sitting on the bench and reading a book while they played.

I set up my treadmill in front of the TV and found something of interest to watch that was one hour long. I soon found that I was so caught up in the program I was watching that I would walk the entire hour instead of just 30.

The best thing I did was to find fitness buddies in my area (via SP) and people who keep me motivated and invite me to go walk with them, be it outdoors or at the mall.

    That's awesome, 3mph, I wish I could do that, but methinks my legs just too short. Hubby says they're as long as his (he's over 6', i'm 5'5) he says they go from my ass to the ground, just like his! LOL! emoticon

...but you can't move forward without moving forward, right?

Did 30 minutes on the treadmill, averaging just over 3 mph. Dh was out on a bike ride, and I was home with the kids, so I figured I'd use the time productively. I hate exercising in front of anyone. He came home just as I was finishing up my after workout stretch. I think we get a little competitive with the exercising, so I'm hopeful we'll motivate each other.

I didn't realize how long it had been since I last blogged here. As of last Friday, I am down 12.5lbs since I first started. I had gained the weigh-in before, and haven't been tracking anything for the past couple of weeks. This morning I was down a couple more pounds, but today isn't weigh-in day! Last night was my curves measure/weigh day, and they say I'm down 7 inches overall (which I'm finding really hard to believe), and down 6 lbs. since joining. Down 1% in body fat.

This week I'm back to tracking food, exercise, and water consumption because I realize how much I need to build that habit in myself. It's too easy to forget that you're trying to make changes in your lifestyle if there aren't things like this to remind you and keep you accountable.
