well trying something new this week

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

in my past history i wrestled for many many years and it took its toll on my body. I had a car accident 4 years ago and was put on naproxen, then i had another ( both I got rear ended) and I had to increase my dosage to 1500 a day. in the last few weeks i have been weaning off. the last three days I ahve been non naproxen. free of it I want to see how my weight loss and excercise will allow me to get off that completely.. I am a little sore this morning upon waking. but that was expected. i will keep everyone updated on this adventure also

I'm dealing with arthritis in my hip and knees, largely I'm sure as a result of being overweight for so many years. I'd been taking a lot of NSAIDs, mainly aspirin and ibuprofen (not at once of course) . Then when my hip was REEEEEALLY bothering me I went to the orthopedic doctor and they gave me a shot in the joint, and I was able to get by without pills for a while. But the effect is slowly wearing off. I continue to exercise and slowly lose the weight, and I DO feel better after working out - in fact, if I sit too long in any one position I stiffen up. But I do face the probability of hip surgery this summer, unless the Lord wants to do a miraculous re-creative work in the joint!
But anyway, exercise IS good for us and gives us those natural endorphines! I hope you can be done with pills!

2013 Bring it ON!

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

Well 2012 is behind us and I like many others are seeking to restart the life changes in the new year. Yesterday was a splurge day for me. I am not saying that with ya we should all do it but with the sense of why I dont eat that way any longer. A reminder. Simple. A reminder of how far I came. I succumbed to many things. Though I did not drink.

So with that. I will comment at least on a weekly basis what is happening in my life. I have found my triggers and I need to make sure I have my replacement foods ready at hand. I have found that to be the key to my success.

That is what drives me to wanting a better lifestyle. Changing what we do to our bodies not only in the terms of physical activity but also in terms of the nourishment. Looking at reducing meal sizes and limiting the higher level of carbs/calories as I make changes further to reduce my weight and increase my physical fitness.

I have to say I love this site. Not only for the commitment that it helps you to make but also it allows you to see accomplishments that others are making and that in itself give such huge encouragement to want to not only continue but also succeed! emoticon emoticon emoticon

watched DR OZ with....... Wheat belly!

emoticon I love the wheat belly book. it has saved my joints a ton of inflamation. This is a lifestyle change not just a diet. Not for everyone, though I feel everyone could benefit from it.

Looking forward to shredding and to moving along with being wheat free

Glad you found something that MAY work for you. Good luck with it. I have found it interesting to read but don't think that giving up a whole category of foods without actually being allergic to them is not something I want to do. I have cut WAY back on the amount of white and processed wheat and sugar products though and found it helped tremendously.
