I am grateful for being able to enjoy my food - I could eat a bit less of it - because food is a thing to enjoy and not to fret over... If you eat the good stuff!

    I totally agree. There are times I am tempted by things (mostly sweets) but I catch myself and say to myself that it won't be worth the calories. And it makes it so much easier to no longer be tempted by it. If I decide to indulge I want it to be really good. I want to love the things I eat!

Eating the stress away

Seems like the announced restructure is making me binge a bit. Lemon slice, toffee cake and so e small easter eggs on the menu yesterday. Does it take the stress away. No.

Also, because everybody wants to have coffee with me - and I witb them - I have daily coffee meetings that impact on my walking time.

So from today that is going to change. I am going to ad a 30 minute walk to my daily routine without giving up on the coffee dates and u am going to make healthier snack choices. Will let you know how it goes.

    Thanks! I believe you are right that's why i am changing it but having a tea or coffee with a friend also helps. Just not so often. And I do love walking!

My first visit to homeopath Pip

Went to homeopath Pip yesterday. I'd been wanting to see a homeopath for months, as peri-menopause is causing all kinds of changes, some good, some annoying, others just plain weird.

As a professional reflexologist I do believe in the natural healing capacity of the body and in natural therapies to get things going, but I had never been to see a homeopath before. So I was excited when I walked to Pip's practice just a few minutes from where I live. It was a beautiful Spring day with just a few clouds around and a nice breeze. Pip's son's chickens were roaming around her outhouse and the cat was lying on the porch - it was all very idyllic.

The whole appointment was so interesting. Pip asked me questions - not only about my health but also about what I liked and what I didn't like, such as what made me angry, if I liked cold weather or not, which situations made me feel uncomfortable, etc etc.

As said strange things have been happening. I suddenly don't like coffee anymore - over a month ago I just stopped drinking it, weird as I loved coffee before. But I was just over it. I used to have a wine or two with my dinner every night but about a month ago I stopped having a wine during the week - still love my weekend wines though!

At the end of the week Pip will send me her recommended homeopathic remedies. Exciting!

More resilient, healthier and happy

Even though I netto only lost 2k since January and nothing since re-starting a couple of weeks ago, I feel happier for it. Here's why:
- My clothes fit better
- I look better
- I enjoy my drive to the swimming pool and swimming three times a week at least
- I bounce back quicker from set backs
- I am more confident
- I enjoy healthy food

My goal for the next weeks is how to find better snacks for me, ones that I really like and only need a small amount of to make me feel satisfied. I am sure there is dark chocolate in there. SparkCoach gave me this tip and I am getting there!

Sure I will overindulge now and then, you've got to enjoy life, and the next day I will be tracking and swimming to my heart's content. All about the balance!

    Those are some awesome NSV's! Your plan sounds great! We each have to find what works for us and what we can live with long term.
