All is not lost

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

For two months I have not had a chance to exercise. I was inundated with weird shift patterns and moving and all kinds of bureaucracy. It seemed like every time I turned around there was always a problem or complication to sort out. On top of that I was not a big fan of SP in that time so did NADA! With all the stress of what was going on around me, I felt like I was eating Kit Kats by the case. Some days I would eat like 4 of them in one sitting. Then I'd think "*sigh* I was doing SO well!"

Now I'm back on track, all the "stuff" is out of the way and thought I'd take my measurements once more and begin again. I had to do a double take when the scale said that even with all that drama I'd lost weight. HOLY COW! Not as bad as I thought then. Back to losing fat and building muscle!

3rd shift sux!

Thursday, April 14, 2011

Been working overnight this week. TOUGH!!! No time to exercise, seems like no time to eat, or when it IS time I have no appetite, and only sleep about 4-5 hours in the day cuz I'm not accustomed to sleeping in the day...

SO looking forward to mornings next week! *YAWN*

The Japanese are SO creative!

I got an email that new Kokeshi bentos are in stock. I am willing myself not to add to the collection but it's a tough one! They also have this cool new mug that looks like a camera lens. WOW! I shudder to think how much shopping I would bring back from Japan when I finally get there!!!

Additions to the cute lunchbox family!

Friday, February 18, 2011

I'm going to have to seriously try to ignore what's happening with this line of bento boxes lest I end up with an unmanageable collection! It's hard though because these are SO cute and offer the most amazing portion control. When you get them they look really small but you can get a lot in that is really filling and you don't feel deprived at all. The stocks have been flying off the shelves in Japan and the manufacturer is looking for artisans to design more of them... Help!!! I fear the addiction!!!

New to the family are:

Ron - the little Chinese boy
Hanako - the cherry blossom Japanese girl
In the foreground is Bushi the samurai taken apart.

Those are super cute! I love bentos, but I'm usually too lazy to make them - leftovers in a boring package are so much easier :)

I'M athletic? No way! WAY!!!

Thursday, February 17, 2011

That's kinda how it went the other night with the S.O. He's a distance runner, a keen footballer (soccer to the Yanks ;) and has been involved in sports his whole life.

He turned to me and said, "I'm so happy that you're athletic!" Who? ME? I laughed and said, "Yeah right! I'm not really athletic, I only do DVDs!" So he said, "But do you see the KIND of DVDs you do? They're tough! I've run with people who can't do that kind of thing at all. In fact I can barely do some of the things YOU do!"

And then I thought, "Heyyy he's right. I've got great conditioning, I'm nimble and agile, I've got muscles everywhere..." Well lookee here! I'M an athlete! Who woulda thunk it??? *LOL*

All hail the DVD athlete!!! emoticon

That's an EXCELLENT compliment! A lot of people underestimate DVDs. They can be extremely challenging.

Congrats on your progress! emoticon
