Hi guys and gals,
probably should have put it:
Hi gals and guys, more gals than guys, LOL
Same Showers Different Day, LOL
and you thougt I would be saying the OTHER meaning!
I was excited to go for a walk this morning but that has been temporarily postponed,
due to lack of interest,
due to MORE RAIN
I think I'm gonna give up walking and get out my swim fins and take up swimming instead, LOL
CARTOONB was nice enough to give me a SP goodie, a SWIM TUBE, and I think it will help me swim my laps instead of walking my laps.
I over did it yesterday, did way too many steps. I was working in our basement and making room to move our office down there from a bedroom upstairs. The office space will increase greatly, and much needed I might add.
Anyway, between the stairs, up and down so many times and the other heavy stuff that I did, without any help, I'm suffering today. Maybe the weather has something to do with it too, but, YOWSA, my pain is flaring for sure!!!
I' ll probably have what I call as an "aspirin omelet" for breakfast. That's when I take a handfull of aspirin and call it an omelet, LOL
Actually, I'm trying a new recipe from sparksrecipe.com
it's Applesauce Oatmeal Muffins, and the recipe is from, well it did not print of the recipe, who da thought it?
I think they will be out of the oven in about 2 minutes, so I'll let them cool and try them.
The only thing about these muffins that almost threw me off, was the time it takes to prepare them. I almost missed that you have to soak the oats in milk for an HOUR.
Opps, I hear the timer going off, next will be the smoke detector. LOL
OK, I'm back, I wish I had smellivision
or smelli'puter so you could smell these muffins
I put some craisens, orange flavored, into the batter
between the cinnamon and the orange
If you are interested in finding the recipe,
the recipe is located at this address:
I love to try new recipes, especially at SP
Ya'll have a grrrrreat day now!
I'll try to make my best blubbering sound,
from me swimmin' in the rain,

I've had a couple of negative posts so I thought I'd better pass on some positive news for a change.
I had a wonderful day yesterday. Felt much better, both physically and emotionally. Thanks to all my buddies for your support and encouragement. I had my appointment with my endocrinologist today and according to him, I'd lost three pounds since my last visit, which was before me joining in on the fun here at SP. The other news was I'd lost 3.4 pounds since my last weigh-in, just six days ago.
Yes, I just did some exercise that I don't know how to log. I just did a back flip.
OK, a back flip in MY HEAD, LOL
Thanks to some great friendships and advice from MY GANG, I recently purchased a real pedometer. I walked .75 miles yesterday according to it and that was without even doing my regular walk routine. I wore it while working in the back yard, and while shopping at my local Lowe's Home Improvement store. I was in there again today for a couple of things and walked .25 mile, JUST WHILE SHOPPING IN THE STORE!!
So, my energy is up, my attitude is up and my weight is up, AH HA, no it's not, it's DOWN.
Ya'll have a grrrrrreat day
because it is one!!!

I had a terrible day yesterday and with due reason but today is a new day.
I can see clearly now the rain is gone,
well, it's still raining but NOW I see why, thanks to another post from Quiggley
I was blaming my weight gain on the complex carbs that I was getting from Stage 2, when I finally realized that the guilty culprit was probably CHEESE.
During my stage 1 I'd almost eliminated cheese from my recipes and had added it back into my diet, and added the extra calories but had forgotten the terrible side effect that cheese has on many people. It's a rather BINDING part of the food group, LOL, if you know what I mean!
TA DAAAAAAAA, that was my epiphany, the light bulb moment, so to speak. Cut out the cheese, NO, not cut the cheese, CUT OUT the cheese.
Ya'll know that I'm back to my same ol self, being a cut up and all. So don't worry about this guy, I'm back and gonna be on track in no time.
Thanks again for the support

Well, I've been on stage 2 for about two weeks and had this terrible feeling that things weren't going too well. Being a diabetic, my blood sugars were getting actually too low at the end of stage 1 and then the addition of complex carbs of stage 2 and I started to increase my blood sugar numbers to the good range, instead of being too low.
The next thing that I noticed on stage 2 was my regularity, or lack thereof. My primary care physician advised me to take some MiraLAX and that did nothing, not even a double dose on multiple days in succession. I felt that if I were not eliminating the food that I ingested, I had to be gaining weight. I guess I'm learning so much on the SP plan but I need to revert back to stage 1. I missed weighing in last Friday because the office that the scale is in was locked up. So I did the dastardly deed today (Thrusday). What a let down! I'd gained even more that I'd thought I had. I gained all of my lost weight and another 17#.
Something has to change, and I had been doing rather well, staying within my calorie limits and having some good exercise on most days too. In fact, I've been more active recently that ever.
It's pretty darned depressing to see the outcome lost and weight gained too.
Thanks for all of the support from my SP friends.
I'll re-group and try to get motivated once again.

Yes, I'm one who loves salad but hates the calories of dressing! I like vinegar and oil, mostly vinegar (red wine vinegar, that is) but I get tired of that too. Well, the secret is out. My nutritionist told me about a store bought dressing called:
It is CALORIE FREE, SUGAR FREE AND DELICIOUS!!! By the way, the bottle says that it is also fat free, gluten free, carbohydrate free and cholesterol free. The sodium on the Raspberry Vinaigrette is 250mg for a 2 TBSP serving.
I found it at our local Schnuck's Grocery where the dressings in the produce isle. I've tried several flavors, none of which were bad, but my favorite is
but I should not have let the cat out of the bag, cause if YOU go buy all of the dressings, and I don't have my favorite any more, I'll cry, or do something drastic, like, oh maybe eat a Big Mac, LOL
Hope this helps you salad lovers who tire of bland same ol' salads.
Remember, the secret is out of the bag and now in your favorite salad bowl/plate.
Until next time,
Keep the faith and stay trur to yourself
