Hadn't updated y'all on Bruno since June and so I guess you could say No News Is Good News! He's still on the same dose of Prednisone and of course the antibiotic is long since done. He's doing pretty good. He wants to go for walks, but not on the pavement....wants to walk through people's yards. I try to take him on mini walks b/c I'm sure he'd never make a real walk, so I sometimes take him just down to the corner ( allowing him to walk in my neighbor's grass along the road). He's part beagle and tends to want to let his nose lead him! hehe Besides the prednisone making him feel hungry so much ( he always was a begger and food oriented) all is well at this time! Still "hoovers" around the house looking for crumbs. Still doing a lot of his old pastime things, but just naps a lot more. Esp. through the morning, but in the afternoon......he'll stand and stare at me till 3pm when I give him some green beans for a snack. By 3:30/4:00, he's standing and staring at me till 4:40 when he gets his supper of his dog food and some more green beans. These are frozen beans ( thawed over night in the frig) so there is no added sodium or anything and they are practically calorie free to keep the old guy from gaining any extra weight. He likes them and that's half the battle!
Right now, he's laying on his beddie here in the livingroom, only a couple of feet from me, having his first "after outdoors" nap. Such a sweet boy!
Basically, he seems fine. Just slower and trips up sometimes, but no serious anything at present.
Thought y'all'd like to know how my Bruno is doing. He is my lovey!! So far, so good!

I am happy to report that Bruno is nearly like his old self again! I know that's the Prednisone, but actually, he started to do a little better before his first dose Thurs. nite! I am so blessed that, at least for now, he's much better! Even holds his ears like a puppy again! All day, Thursday, he didn't do that, like he just felt like doodoo. And he probably did feel like that. He still is a little wobbly on his legs, but this afternoon, he bounded out the front door like old times and did all his business, sniffed around and popped right back into the house! This is the first time since Wed. that he was able to go out on his own! (I was carrying him out to the grass as we have 2 little steps out the door to the porch which he would fall down).
So, at least for now, he's my old Bruno again! I will keep you updated! I want to take this opportunity now to thank all of you for your comments and your prayers and warm wishes for me and Bruno and if you wouldn't mind too much, please keep us there ( in your prayers) as Bruno is 15 after all, and Prednisone just masks symptoms which means he may not be out of the woods. Y'all are great and I just don't know what I would ever do had I not met all you wonderful folks! (((HUGS))) (((HUGS)))

It's me again, my friends. Sometimes y'all are the only ones I can go to and I hope you don't mind too much. It's my Bruno doggie. He's 15 ( at least) and has developed some awful thing. He can't use his legs. You can stand him up and they just fold under him. I've had him to the vet today. He did blood work, which was fine. Then he did a couple of x-rays, and they didn't show any problems. Poor dog hasn't peed all day. I tried slinging him in a towel and got him outside, but he didn't pee. Don't know if he'll be able to eat this evening! Doc said he could refer me to a specialist, but it would be cost prohibitive, esp. at his advanced age. We're starting him on prednisone today and the vet wants to see him again Mon. or Tues. My poor baby. He doesn't understand. My DS is home now and he will help me with the little guy.
I fear his days are limited, now and it scares me so much. I know he can't stay forever, but longer would be preferred.
Prayers, my friends, please! This is not just a random dog as most of you can identify with.......this is my 4-legged son.
Thank you all so, so much for reading and your understanding and your prayers. I will keep you all updated in a blog. (((HUGS)))

This may not seem to be anything needing an explanation, but to those of you who follow me on their friend feed, I'm sure you noticed 4 entries on this past Monday for a 9 minute walk. It was actually 4 separate 9 minute walks! No double clicking this time! hehe My DGD is going to an arts and crafts class a street over from my house, so I walked her up then I walked home, then I walked up to retrieve her, then we walked to my house! It was a slow walk, so 9 minutes one way, 4 times for me!! Yay! So, that's all that was, but I thought y'all should have all the d'ruthers!! hehe
Yesterday I got over to the gym and walked an hour while watching Bones. (one of my fav. shows) Need to do it again, but I'm wiped out! Maybe I'll do half and hour then back to an hour tomorrow.
Hope y'all are doing Sparkly !! ((HUGS))

I forgot to mention as I told you about Chef Meg's luscious offerings the almost most important part!!! Since I wrote that first blog about the recipes I've tried, I've lost 1 pound. As long as I get some exercise each day and eat only (or mostly) only these dishes.......the weight drops! If you have "The Spark Solution" it pretty well says that right out! And it works! I strongly recommend getting, reading and trying out this book!! Take 'er out for a spin! Kick the tires!! It works if you work it!! Promise!!
Hope you all are having a super day and a super successful day as well!! (((HUGS)))
