Went in to work today dull and depressed. Forgot it was ven Friday. Imagine going half way through the day and not knowing it was the END of the week. Well it all got better when I realized what day it was.
Got four appts. set up for teaching next week and oh ya! Got better. Was told only one new bus this year and I am getting it!!! (Next week probably!!) Have to trrain ALL charter drivers on it, too.
Kids are back. So going to head for home now. Been on their PC for the time. emoticon emoticon

MOTIVATIONS!!!

What is going to keep me going the rest of the round? I am not sure. Being bummed out by the doctor today didnt help. But I have my team! Nay, I have OUR Team. Read books before this. Tried ATkins. Yuck. Then my daughter introduced me to SPARKPEOPLE. And I thought that this was it.
This weekend I found out different. A note in my Spark mail truly sparked me. Mandi said LETS MEET! And that was awesome. First thing out of my mouth was how is your weekend? Not small talk but serious inquiry how she was doing with the challenge!! And her questions were serious too and we got IMMEDIATE answers from each other.
Awesome that my teammate would travel an hour just to say Hi and break bread together. (of course it was whole grain !!! LOL) This is what I mean. We care for each other really. We even started to make plans to reget together this summer and have a good time sharing and we wont even have to wait for an answer.
Think how awesome it would be if each and evryone of us me JUST ONE other team mate and shared that with the rest of the team. Hey we just might find out we are real people.
Now all that is left is to check with the gym manager and find out how I can substitute in order to continue.
Have you stopped to think how your TEAM takes care of you starting with Thur. TNT? Then sending you to the weekend challenge Fri thru Mon? Wait dont stop there. There is LCW Tues? How did you do? They will check on you Wed at the Weigh in? So what is left for you except to post and share how well you did or how you are setting up for next week?
Having that human contaact is super to encourage and reinstill our goals to us and to each other. Our family may know why we are doing this but they sure ant know HOW we are doing this and what hills and dales we have to travel through like a rollercoaster ride at Kennywood Park. We can only get that from our team and as I said, when and if we meet face-to-face THAT is the SUPER MOTIVATION!!!!

    Great blog Donny boy!! Next time I am there!! So sorry I missed out! This sure is Mandi's month though...she is meeting me (and Lynn) on the 12th!

There are alot of things you can still do! The recumbent bike, swimming, seated boxing on a exercise ball with the bad foot in the air (talk about an Ab workout!!!) and ST is cake!! One legged things!! Hammy curls!! Leg extensions!! No excuses for you!!

  emoticon Awwwww, love it Don! We are all like family and it was wonderful to meet you. Don't let the Dr.'s orders get you down. It's just an injury and if you listen you'll heal and be back at it. I understand it could take some time so you'll just need to learn to work around it and get comfortable with that recumbent bike! You can do this!!

SSUMMER BUMMER!

Ya, left 16 with all the good intentions I could muster. They lasted like a New Years Resolution. NOT!!! Kept it up for a couple weeks. Then was going to camp most of the time and snacks, fast food, lack of water intake, and loosing interest in the gym. Blamed it was a new gym and not mine and oh ya had to watch Faith cause mom wasn't allowed to travel long trips anymore. Ya, all the excuses and not one of them good.
So now looking back, I realize that the one that was left out of the picture was me!!! Ya, I fell from bad to worse. Then they dropped a new school district on us and training new drivers. More fast food, less water, long hours, lack of sleep. No gym naturally. Just late meals then to bed.
Anyway. I am not letting it get me down. Gained 10 lbs but I really believe 5-7 is knowledge, and wisdom and really realizing that ME has to come first. Oh, and asking for help and sharing, sharing, sharing.
We do need each other to succeed. We have to lean on one another. And helping each other helps us to succeed because we see how important it is to pull others up when they fail. And guess what? THEY will pull you up when you fail. Actually, we can't fail. Not with this team. We take a step back. But like my sig. says, Fall seven times, get up eight!
We can do this! We MUST do this so we are not statistics of bad but a statistic saying you can do this. Look!! I did and it feels great.

    Hey Donnie-boy!! C'mon I know you aren't really sweatin' it are ya?? Didn't you lose 10 lbs in one week somewhere along the lines??? You know what to do and you know how to implement it into your routine. And you have us! Your Spy family. Don't forget about us. Like Dar said, we are here no matter if we are in round or not. Now, GO LOOK AT MY WEDDING PICS!!!!! LOL.....love you like a surrogate uncle!!! Hugs!!! One of these days I will make it to that cities of yours (I shiver just thinking about it!!) to meet up with you!!

  Don, you got back up by signing on for BLC17. So recess is over, get up and dust the playground dirt off your knees and make a change. 10 lbs is NOTHING to you. You've lost that and more so you've got this 10 too. You know what you need to do so focus and we'll be there for you the entire way. And don't feel bad, 10lbs is chump change compared to a certain co captain to remain un named (ahem) that gained 25! Are you going to streak with me?

    Don, we ALL fall down from time to time, I think Rhonda's the only one that didn't gain over the break but she just got married so she HAD to stick to R16B! You realized the most important thing and that is YOU are the most important! I have to give you a little tongue lashing for not coming to one of us sooner for some support, remember we are ALWAYS there for you, BLC or no BLC. You are a part of our lives and in our hearts, we will pick you up every time you are down until you can stand alone and in turn lean on you. Fall seven times, get up eight is spot on!

Summer Recess!

Summer recess is simple. Gonna treat it as 16B. Ya, thats right! Gonna keep it up and do what you have taught me and is now becoming a part of me. Wish everyone a great summer and hope to spend a whole bunch of time at camp and looks like in McDs parking lt.LOL. Gonna keep in touch with the team and set some new goals on on my life. Looking back and forward!

It is a couple minutes after midnight, but this still counts cause they shut down the WiFi at the bar just when I was going to post this blog. Ended up in the lot of McDs and typing like mad!
I was disappoointed with round 16. Did not reaach the goals I set for myself. Still fighting around 160. But lets look back.
WEnt through the business and tailspin caused by the trainer fiasco. That lasted for almost two weeks. It took Rhonda to pull me through on that one and the big discussion of muscle loss vs fat loss. Thank you, Rhonda.
Then a new doctor who diagnosed male plumbing problems and within a week or two, I was scheduled for surgery. That kicked me in the butt real bad!
But guess what? I got through it. And I thank all of my team. I came to the realization that this isn't onlly about weightloss but about mental stamina too. Reading the posts daily, I found that everyone on the team has had something affecting them this round. Some worse than others.
But when it became necessary to reach out, a shoulder could be found and words of encouragement were ALWAYS there,
So yes it was a success because I grew mentally this round, and yes I found out how a team works and everyones setbacks ARE everyones setbacks. So now I look forward to 17 (Thanks, Darlene!) and the updates from recess and meeting new teammates, and yes reaching my goals! emoticon
We can all grow without adding on WEIGHT! Love ya all. emoticon

    When we don't see the numbers we want to see then we think we have failed. It's when we take a look at the big picture we realize we have "gained" so much more!

You are a large part of what makes our team a success, we all support and work together through our up and downs. Thanks for wonderful support throughout Round 16!

    Well said! This was a tough round on many participants, but as you said, it is only one round, and overall health is influenced by many factors.
