I've been sick for the past few hours. I've thrown up three times. It came on kinda suddenly. I got to the hotel, ate, and worked out. An hour or two later I threw up. I'm ready to go home!

Things I'm proud of today:
Making healthy food choices
Persevering in tracking my nutrition despite the lack of information available

Things I'm thankful for:
Randy sending pictures of my family
Feeling a little better
Getting to go home tomorrow!!

    UGH!! We get a lot of stomach flu around my house due to my two little germy kids. Hope it passes quickly. Remember BRAT - bananas, rice, apples/applesauce, toast (or crackers).

It's a lifestyle not a diet

...this is my mantra for this trip. I have had challenges, such as no fridge, irregular eating times, temptation that comes along with eating out...etc

I've been trying though by watching portions eating healthy lunches and breakfast and still attempting to work out. So I consider all these successes even though I may not be eating as healthy as I was last week.

Things I'm proud of:
I made it to the hotel gym and ran for over 20 minutes.
Not eating the Doritos that came with my dinner.
Keeping track of my calories/nutrition and being totally accountable.

Things I'm thankful for:
Subway making it so easy to track your nutrition
Getting to talk to randy today
The endorphins after my run
Good spark friends.

Business trip motivation

I arrived safely. Made good choices eating right up until dinner when my boss decided to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for food and beer. *sigh* of course there's no fridge in the room either. My plan for tomorrow is to add beer into my tracker preemptively and make better food choices. Perhaps even no beer depending on if I feel a migraine coming or not.

Here is my motivation for the week:

Today's positives:
Boss noticed my weight loss (first comment so far!)
Despite bad dinner I did use portion control and only ate half! (That's called progress)
I still managed 7 minutes of cardio (I didn't go long due to beer consumption)

Things im thankful for:
Good working relationship with my boss
My morals
Being good at my job and enjoying it
Meeting new people

No Time to Come Up For Air!

That was the theme of my day today. Every time I turned around there was something else that needed to get done and required my time.

Crisis 1: My work calls and another center out of state needs help as soon as possible. So I find out I'm going out of town TOMORROW MORNING and will be gone until Friday. Then I will work back at my center Saturday.

Crisis 2: My aunt is going through a messy divorce. Which somehow means that she needs me to come down to a impromptu party on Saturday so that my cousin feels love.

Crisis 3: Some bills need to be paid that I was alerted to at the last moment. I paid them.

Craziness 4: My kid needs a ride to a game in TEN minutes. I drop every thing to do it.

Craziness 5: He also tells me he has a National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony in TWO hours.

etc etc etc. The fun just never stops LOL.

Any ways, I'm fighting a migraine and trying to prepare for what seems to be a long and crazy week.

Wish me luck. I am slightly worried about staying on track and living out of a hotel for a week. I did so good last week and don't want a set back. I am hoping that my hotel will have a fridge and that way it will be easier. However, most trips we stay in places that don't have a fridge and it forces me to go out to eat. That will be more challenging.

I am lucky to have a job though and so I'm not complaining.

And to end the blog on a positive note, I would like to mention the fact that I have increased my fitness minutes yesterday and today. Slow and steady wins the race right? :)

    I have a friend who sets her priorities by asking what's gonna matter 5 years from now. I can't guess about the rest of the things on your schedule, but I am pretty sure that breathing will matter five years from now. Best wishes.

My Scale is NOT Broken!

I am down to 173.8!!! I started a week ago at 176.8. That's a 3lb loss!!!!!!

I had to buy a whole other scale AND weigh myself a second day in a row to believe it.

I am so excited! And my catbuddy Lucioussue she lost 2lbs this week!!! We are definitely starting this challenge out with a bang. I am excited for the both of us.

Randy is cleaning and I'm about to force him to go walking with me. emoticon

Then later on we plan on going and registering for a bridal registry. Lots of fun things to do today and it will keep me up on my feet!

Things I'm thankful for:
-Great Spark friends - you guys have really kept me motivated.
-Randy: He's been RELATIVELY supportive...he's eating less junk this time around so he doesn't tempt me off course. And he's been taking walks with me.
-My Health: I've been able to successfully this far (knock on wood) keep this head cold at bay and been able to stay active and focused on making my lifestyle a healthier one.
-My Cat: for providing me unconditional love.

    Congratulations!! Did you really go out and buy a new scale to double check? That cracks me up because that is exactly what I would do (except I would probably doubt the second scale and have to get a third)!!
