Seeing some results.

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

I lost 1.8 lbs this week from last week. What's more important, I have been actually feeling more muscular, energized, and I feel stronger. (Nonscale victories right there.) I feel better about my weight loss journey lately, not because of the numbers reflected on the scale...but because I am proud of the steps I've taken in this journey.

I'm on the CUSP of going into the 140's!!! I currently weigh 150.2lbs. I am so excited! To think, I started this journey in the 180's!!!

Today I we met with the Reverend for the first time in our pre-marital counseling. It was very insightful and I feel very excited about our counseling session. I am excited (a bit tentative but excited nonetheless) to also grow in my faith. It has not been an area of focus in my life for a long time and I think its exciting to think about spending time focusing on this area with Randy by my side. I was nervous about how "conservative" our counseling session was going to be but the pastor put me at ease when he said that women were created to be equal in the marriage. Not the man higher than the woman (or vice versa). I am excited for a life partnership. My mother did not have that and so its exciting for me to be able to have that kind of relationship in my life.

Things I'm thankful for:
Reverend Wilford.
Randy.
Work meeting today that reinforced to me that its important to be ME.
My health.

What a great accomplishment for the week! Those non-scale victories are definitely motivating.

Good luck in your pre-marital counseling - another journey you'll get to take with your fiance.

Building Momentum!!!

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

Today I worked my butt off so I am expecting good things to come my way! I drank my 8 cups of water today. I ate really well today . For dinner I made the slow cooker salsa receipe from sparkpeople and it was DELICIOUS.

I went to ZUMBA for 45 minutes and then to my kettlebell class (45 min). I was the only person who showed up so I got a very focused (intense) work out. Then I stumbled back to the other room and took ZUMBA again.

Today I feel strong. I feel energized. and I feel great about myself! I feel like an athlete.

Nonscale victories: My thighs are really toning up. I can do squats a lot lower and longer than I use to. I'm also starting to notice that all of my clothes are fitting loose now. I think I'm shooting past the "plateau" I thought I was experiencing a few weeks ago.

Things I'm thankful for:
renewed energy and determination!
Snuggly kitty to come home to.
Being able to sleep in tomorrow.
Randy.

A little determination goes a long way.

I made my "another chance" count today!!! I woke up and had 16oz of water instantly. Then I made sure to drink water all throughout the day. It really helped me not crave things wildly today.

I went to 45 minutes of cardio dance and 45 minutes of cardio kickboxing. I was able to hold the weights the entire time. It felt like the woman was trying to kill us today but I got through it, lol.

I feel really proud of myself today.

Nonscale victory: pretty much all my clothes are big on me now. *sigh* hard on the pocket book but really good for the ego. :)

Things I'm thankful for today:
Working going smoothly and fast.
Randy's continued support.
Energy.
Good weather.
Kitties to come home to and snuggle.

You know, being good for the ego isn't all bad ;-) Too bad that it's inversely proportionate to the health of the pocketbook. But is sounds like you had a really great workout today. Hope you continue to have a great week!

Getting back to the basics.

Sunday, February 17, 2013

Recently I've felt a bit of a struggle when it comes to my eating habits. I feel a little bit more out of control than I have this entire journey. I don't think I'm WILDLY out of control or any where near where I was but I want to ensure I'm making progress and not taking a step backwards.

So I've come to the conclusion that I need to get back to the basics. I've been getting too "comfortable" within my program and taking some of the things that I was making sure i was doing before for granted.

1. I need to hit 8 glasses a water a day. I think I've been ignoring this for a few weeks now. Which is right around the time I felt out of control, lack of energy, sick and craving salty foods. This might put me back on the right track, all by itself.
2. I need to start blogging regularly again. I'm only doing it a few times a week, and not with much effort.
3. FOCUS ON THE POSITIVES instead of the negatives.

This is my plan this week.

Nonscale victories: The exercise pants that I bought myself approximately a month ago are loose already. Had to buy myself another pair today.

Things I'm thankful for:
Sparkfriends and family for keeping me on the right track.
Dancing.
Whiskers.
Randy.

Sometimes even when we have a good routine, we start to become a little bit too comfortable and forget the important work that we have to do. I think that you realizing this is a good thing because it allows you to continue on in a positive direction after a short plateau rather than taking a step or two backwards. You have a new plan to get through this to keep up the great progress you've had already. Good luck!

Can't let up.

Friday, February 15, 2013

I've been doing a little bit of stress eating. Luckily I've still maintained range and have also been working out all week. But I would like to try to nip this in the bud. I've been eating more vegetables so that is a positive out of this.

I have been fighting a small bug this week. My voice has been scratchy and I've awakened every morning with a scratchy throat and an ear ache. I am hoping that I kick it soon because I've been feeling pretty tired this week.

Nonscale victories today:
Wearing a shirt I haven't been able to wear in awhile today and having it look better on me today than how it looked last time.
