DECIDE to DO it - Whatever that IT may be.

Sunday, January 20, 2013

DO IT was BLC21's theme this week. The "D" is for DECIDE to just DO it. Tackle something new, or that's been holding you back. Something that you may have thought about for awhile and haven't done it. So I'm going to try to BATCH meals (AMANDA is my influence, see her page for great meal ideas: www.sparkpeople.com/mypage.asp?id=%2
DAMANDA79%2D
).

Planning meals is something I have dreaded the idea of since the beginning of time so I am going to sit down today and try to at least plan a few to see where this gets me. I'll let you know how this goes in a bit.

I find planning meals one of the best ways to keep my eating in check & my family's as well. Good for you for giving it a try. Good luck!

Being Unafraid to Make Changes

Thursday, January 17, 2013

This week we are talking about being UNAFRAID and making CHANGES. I think this pretty much sums up my entire SPARK journey. I dove in, met some great people, and I keep changing things up to ensure that I get results!

This week in particular I've made some changes. I've increased my fitness minutes by attending fitness classes. I've also increased my calorie intake. In the past when I would "diet" I would restrict calories and then also exercise like a mad woman. I wouldn't feel great, just crazed lol. Now that I am making a healthy lifestyle change, I'm looking at food as nutrition. So since I've upped my fitness minutes, I upped the amount of fuel I put in my body.

THAT is scary. I've been aiming for 1200 calories since I've started spark (sometimes I go over, but in general, that's my goal.) I've upped about 100-300 calories a day this week because I've been starving and wanting to ensure my body recovers after all the workouts. I will be interested to see what the scale reflects. If its too much, I will adjust.

Today I tried:
Z-boxing (cardio boxing) for 45 minutes.
Then I got Randy to go to alive, we had dinner and then walked for about 30 min.

Nonscale victories:
I'm starting to feel my shoulder muscles, biceps, and glutes become harder.
My body felt less sore today and is adjusting to all the activity.

Things I'm thankful for:
My community for having such a great wellness center (Alive!)
Randy going for a walk today with me at Alive.

I'd rather be covered in sweat!!

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

After a stressful day at work, I decided to " dance my cares away" with cardio dance. The class is so much fun!!! They'd had Yoga tonight but I didn't go because I knew that'd be too much. My body is already sore. Ill have to go to that another week.

Today I was thankful that:
I decided to blow off steam in a healthy manner.
Blc21 started today officially to help me stay on track.

LCW=Exercise fatigue!

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

I went to a kettlebell class (30 mins) today and then decided to try out Zumba (45 minutes). My body is EXTREMELY tired, but I feel great! I LOVE all the classes. However, I think I need to take a rest day tomorrow. Sadly :( because Cardio dancing is tomorrow and that has been my favorite class so far. However, I should listen to my body. :-p

Today I am thankful for:
my new alive membership!!!!!!!

Go C.A.M.O BLC21!

Monday, January 14, 2013

I joined the sparkteam BLC21 and was put on the C.A.M.O team. I felt a bit intimidated at first, but I feel that I have what it takes!

In true "C.A.M.O." fashion, I decided to go all out on my fitness minutes today. I surpassed my weekly pledge of 80 minutes and did 90 today. I signed up at ALIVE (the community wellness center) and did 45 min of CARDIO DANCING then like a NUT decided to do 45 min of CARDIO KICKBOXING. I'm EXHAUSTED but I feel so proud of myself!!!

I think I'm going to rock the scale this week...its only been giving me 1's...we'll see if I can surpass that now.

I also called Reverend Wilford today and signed up for marriage counseling. We are not part of a church yet, but our friends go to him. He was willing to work with us even though we are non-members. I think eventually we will become members. I really liked him and I think he will be really good for us.

Nonscale victories:
I can ROLL my body like I wasn't able to do before....and my hips emoticon
I kept up with 90 minutes of INTENSE cardio and didn't really need a break.

Things I'm thankful for:
ability to take fitness classes any day of the week now!
Reverend Wilford willing to meet with us.
Randy being supportive of my new found fitness addiction and excited about marriage counseling.
