Why I Want To Do this

I want to lose weight to put myself into a healthy body mass index range. I want to lose weight to live and long full healthy and active life. I want to be able to look and feel confident and beautiful on my wedding day (06/01/13). I want to be at my healthiest stage in my life when my fiance and I decide to have children in the future.

I want to feel confident and proud of how I look in pictures taken of me.

I don't want to feel guilt in a bathing suit.

I want to change my relationship with food. I don't want to rely on it to comfort me in times of stress or eat mindlessly. I want to eat food to put nutrition in my body.I want to change the types of foods I put into my body to keep it healthy.

I want to look like an active healthy individual. I want to feel like I can run an entire race. I also want to feel like an ahtlete.

With a slimmer healthier body I will be able to run without being out of breath and be fully confident. I hope to have less body aches, headaches, and in general be healthier due to healthier food choices and a healthier body.

Reluctant Run Turned AWESOME

I was really reluctant to run today after work. I was exhausted and making every excuse not to get on the treadmill even though I have promised myself to work in (at the very least) walking into my daily activity (even if its only 10-15 minutes).

My fiance got a tooth pulled and we've been running together. I was exhausted afterwork so I was leaning towards allowing myself out of exercising.

But then I decided to go balls to the wall and get myself on the treadmill before I had the time to talk myself out of it and I HAD THE BEST RUN that I've had in a long time!!!!

    I think those are the most motivating moments, when you are sooo not up to it but you do it anyway... its so much more rewarding than a typical workout! good job!

Positivity coming out my ears!

I noticed on the boards today that I gravitated to the positive sounding titles and steer cleared from the ones that started out with complaints/negativity.

Suprising, there were a lot of negative posts so it took a lot for me to sort through to the positive ones.

So my goal for the week is to post all the positive things I can until its coming out of my ears. The negativity just brings me down and I need to be UP for this journey of mine.

Small victories add up

emoticon Today was my first official weigh in since it's one week that I started focusing on eating better and living healthier.

I lost two lbs! At first I was slightly disappointed because last week I lost those lbs between Monday and Tuesday. The scale didn't reflect the work I put in the rest of the week. But I'm choosing to focus on the fact that I lost an overall two lbs last week and felt good doing it.

It's probably better that I only weigh myself once a week so I don't get discouraged and remain motivated. 2lbs is more weight loss needed to reAch my goal weight in the time I want to. So that is exciting!!! emoticon

Baby Steps

The last few times I've tried achieving weight loss, I've done the calorie cutting method. I aimed for 1200 calories and tried not to sway too far from it. I aimed for 1200 with the perfection attitude. Any thing over and I was unhappy. Any thing under and I was ECSTATIC. I lost weight that way, but I also gained it back.

This time I'm aiming for watching my calories, aiming AROUND 1200 calories, but giving myself leeway if I'm hungry. If I slip up, I'm not going to let it get me down and drag me further off course. I'm aiming for healthier choices and portion control.

I am really trying to listen to my body this time around. Eat when I'm hungry, stop when I'm not hungry and recognize when I'm eating to satisfy myself emotionally.

Since Monday, I've been trying this and despite not being "perfect" I feel healthy and have reached what I consider successes (feeling better, working exercise into my schedule, etc).
I am hoping that this will allow me to drop the weight and keep it off this time around.
