Weight gain

Saturday, December 29, 2012

Experienced my first real weight gain since the start of this journey. 159.8 back up to 162 :(. However, I did have two holiday dinners and a potluck that I indulged in. Also, I've been sneaking starbursts at work. I tracked them today and got smacked in the face with some reality so I believe I will be back on track this week. I feel okay about this weight gain because I know how I will fix it and how I got there this week.

But next week I want loss! :)

This weeks positives was that I started strength training and had some renewed focus in exercise. Also worked in more freggies into my diet.

Non scale victories:
I fit into my "skinny" jeans today!!! I'm two sizes down now.
I'm actually starting to enjoy wearing clothes and looking in the mirror again.

Things I'm thankful for:
Getting to have date night with randy tonight.
Liking the new center manager so far.

It also could've been too much salt. I used to ignore salt, but it really shows up on the scale.

I know you will do it. The gain is a reminder of what you need to change. Keep pushing.

2 lbs is not a big weight gain. I think everyone gains over the holidays! Enjoy your date night with Randy!

My Eye

Friday, December 28, 2012

The lense of my eye is irritated. Your lense is usually smooth and it focuses light which helps you to see. Since my is irritated, its wavy, which is why things are blurry. He prescribed a 4x/day eye drop and I will check back in next week. All I can tell you is ITS OBXNOXIOUS not being able to see very well out of the one eye.

Moving on from that...Sparkcoach has asked me to write something about Sparkpeople that will help me reach my goals.

Blogging. This helps me to sort out my thoughts from rational/irrational and how I feel (and not let those feelings hold me back). It takes me from reacting to a thought/feeling to being able to make concious choices because I am able to get them down on paper, seperate from them for a minute and then move forward. It also helps me get feedback from others. I definitely think blogging doesn't get as much recognition as it should from the other sparktools (trackers, etc).

Nonscale victory:
My ring slips off! I've lost weight in my hands (they are tiny to begin with)...must get this fixed asap! don't want to lose the ring! But exciting! It looks like I could go a half a size down.

Things I'm thankful for today:
Some quiet time tonight. Today was really LOUD and i needed the time to myself.
Getting in a morning workout because I don't feel like doing one now.
The health of my family.
My office getting in order.
Having time to check out my eye and having it not be too serious.

Is it possible?

Friday, December 28, 2012

Is it possible that my body is adjusting to working out so much and starting strength traing and that's the cause of the scale fluctuation? It's been all over the place this week and not in the direction that I would like. I've also been eating a lot more freggies which means a lot more fiber. emoticon I hope so. I told LRSILVER that hers was water weight so I am going to hope that mine is too.

I have a similar problem. My weight will not budge. I am exercising for the first time in 2 years. Since my hysterectomy ( about a year ago) I find losing weight a struggle and I seem to have lost muscle.

Hope the scale settles down for you. You are doing a great job of staying healthy and exercising. I have heard that you can have water retention from working out.

Eating more freggies is great!

Your weight will fluctuate all day every day. It is best to pick a certain time of day to weigh, such as right after getting up in the morning. Then only weigh at that time once a week. This will give you a fairly accurate picture of your weight loss over time. Weighing more than this is the main reason people get in to the yo-yo effect and eventually give up. Try it and you will see that it really works better.

Too Busy to Notice Blurry Vision?

Thursday, December 27, 2012

emoticon How could I get so busy that I haven't paid attention to my blurry vision?? Today I tried to put on my contacts, blurry! brushed it off. I FINALLY -noticed when I sat down tonight that my left eye is actually BLURRY and that is WITH the glasses as well. *smacks self in head* Should've probably noticed this sooner and gotten this checked out sooner.

When I got home, I found my cat shivering outside scared out of his wits on the front porch. He likes to jump out from time to time and the kids must've let him out 20 minutes before I got home.

Then I noticed my eye blurriness. So I decided to eat then do 30 Day Shred so I wouldn't worry about my eye. After I did 30 day shred I jumped on the treadmill.

Nonscale victories today:
-I feel leaner and "trim" around the upper waist.
-My skin is noticeably more radiant.
-I had the energy required to get through this long day and didn't feel too stressed during the day, actually pretty happy!

Things I'm thankful for:
1: Whiskers was okay, not hurt and didn't run away.
2: Quiet time for myself.
3: coverage at work.
