TRUE fitness/weight loss goals.

Monday, December 10, 2012

My TRUE motivation to lose weight:
-Look/feel healthy.
-Be a good role model to my family.
-Be proud of my body.

I've been MIA from blogging for the last few days. I've worked straight since last monday. Saturday evening my friend and his girlfriend came over after work and then I worked for a few hours Sunday. After the long week, I decided just to give myself permission to take some time off. My head has also been pounding this entire weekend.

I cleaned the house but I also lounged around and watched movies with Cameron after taking a nap. Then I went to bed early. I also snacked on some cookie dough! *Sigh* it was nice. :) Though I wasn't exercising, I still made sure to keep within my calorie range, so the cookie dough didn't put me over any, although not nutritious.

Any ways, I was back to the grind today. I worked out on the treadmill after work.

Nonscale victory:
-My arms actually looked like they lost weight.
-I could really tell my weight loss in my face.
-overall, my body looks/feels lighter.

Things I'm thankful for:
Movie time with Cameron this week (and tonight!)
Randy got home safe from his trip.
A relaxing weekend, despite having to work every day.
My headache has finally left me!

Today was a bad day at work. Every thing kept snowballing. I left work at 1:00pm. I'm not sure if that was quite professional, but I knew I had to get out of there. I have been working since monday and will also be working tomorrow so I needed a break.

I came home and took a nap. My cat must've knew something was up because he slept wrapped around my neck which he never does. I woke up, sparked some and then got myself on the treadmill. It was a lighter day than yesterday where exercise is concerned but I gave myself permission to just relax this afternoon.

Things I'm proud of today:
knowing when I reached my point and deciding to take care of myself.
Using exercise and healthy foods to relieve my stress.

Things I'm thankful for today:
Getting a massage (It was from the cat, but Hey, I'll take what I can get lol)
Afternoon off from work.
NCIS episodes. I've been watching them all night (wow my life is boring lol).
That they are sending me coverage for next week!

Great work on taking care of yourself. Think about all the unhealthy things you could've done to cope, but you did the right thing instead!

Sometimes you have to just get away when the day just keeps on getting worse and worse. Sounds very professional to me. Why sit there and wait until you have a meltdown. Much harder to recover from.

Day 1 of working by myself. Woke up and worked out right away to get some good endorphins to boost my day. The day was stressful, but I got through it. Got home and worked out some more. I feel exhausted but relaxed.

Daily Proud moment:
Ran on the treadmill for 25 minutes when I thought I was only going to make 15.
Saying no to the pizza that was ordered in for us today.

Things I'm thankful for:
My other cat (GUS) feeling braver lately and coming out to snuggle me.
No MAJOR disasters going on at work today.
Randy and cameron.

I've been semi-absent from the spark community. I've been making a minimum sparking effort as I got back on a routine after my business trip but its time to RAMP it UP!

I think I am now catching up on sleep. My co-worker is going out on FMLA so I will be the only one in the quality office for the next month. That means 6 days a week, and long hours....*Sigh* I am hoping I am able to get some coverage but so much is riding on my office that even if I get some help, Im not sure if I will be able to leave them alone.

So now its even more important for me to focus on myself outside of work so that I can avoid stress and take care of my own mental health during this stressful period.

I have been feeling less motivated to exercise lately due to lack of energy. The lack of sleep hasn't been helping. I forced myself out today and ran the entire time and feel so much better energy wise and spirit wise.

Daily Proud Moment(s):
Being able to run the entire time for 2.6 miles after some time off.
Not allowing the work potluck to tempt me while I ate what I brought.

Things I'm thankful for:
Randy and Cameron.
New Perspectives.
My crazy cat for licking the cream cheese off my bagel (apparently he was helping with my diet, ;) ) haha
The weather. For December, its been pretty warm for Michigan.

For some variety you might try spreading that bagel with a Laughing Cow light cheese wedge, you would lose over 60 calories, 8 grams of fat, 5 of which are unhealthy saturated fats. They come in a variety of flavors--onion, garlic, chipotle, etc.
Warning: do not leave bagel unsupervised--cats eat Laughing Cow, too.

There is nothing wrong with backing off from sparkpeople as long as you are taking care of business (meaning nutrition and exercise!) Thanks for the goodie and the sweet message. Don't give out too much credit. YOU are the one doing the work. We are just cheering you on!
