Well, I'm 45 today and I am so glad to be alive. Some people complain about getting older, but I am grateful for each year!

There's new wrinkles and new gray hair. But, there is also another year I have had with my children, husband, family and friends and for that I am grateful.

I look forward to another year and the continued pursuit of a healthier me!

It is so beautiful outside...the sky is blue, the weather is warm and the flowers are blooming.

I myself, haven't felt beautiful in a long time. Each day that passes and the healthier I get, the better I feel.

I know beauty is also on the inside...but that's what I mean... I haven't felt beautiful in a long time. I'm grumpy, irritable and downright lazy at times. I notice that the better I eat, the better I feel.

I'm working on my eating habits and my inner beauty all at the same time. I will persevere and I will be beautiful again.

I really love summer. I love the fresh fruits and veggies so much! We planted our garden last weekend and hopefully we will be rewarded in a few weeks. We planted squash, peppers, onions and tomatoes. I wish we had enough room for peas and okra, but I guess I will just get those from the farmers market.

It's time to work on getting the pool ready for summer. It's a yucky process, but the reward is great. This is probably the only additional exercise I get because it doesn't hurt my back or my knees when I exercise in the pool, plus I get the beautiful sunshine.

Ok- I have got to go to the grocery store. I had nothing healthy to eat for breakfast so I had a poptart. Oh my gosh - they're so bad for you. Way to many calories and way too much fat. I didn't have a choice because I need to go to the store and buy some healthy foods. I have meat and veggies, but no breakfast items.

Why is breakfast the hardest meal of the day to prepare for? I'm always in a hurry and I have to just grab something and eat it when I get to work. I just can't eat anything first thing in the morning because....well, I just can't for some reason. It just kind of makes me nauseous to eat too early.

I need to go through the recipes and look for breakfast things I can prepare in advance....that's what I will do right now.

    I know the breakfast dilemma, it's so hard to eat on the run. My usual breakfast is a piece of cheese on whole wheat toast and a piece of fruit, its quick and easy. I try hard to keep healthy foods around and now that my kids aren't at home, there's no excuse for junk food to be around, no one really needs it anyway. Just remember one pop tart will not ruin everything and get back to the healthy eating for the rest of the day!

Well, week 2 wasn't so great. I knew I didn't do well, so I didn't even weigh in. This week has started out so much better.
