This georgous dress that I wanted is no longer available in the size I wanted! The dress was a hundred dollars, so I waited for a sale... one finally came, 50% off, and the dress is sold out in a 10 !Sure, they have it in an 8, but I can't be an 8, too thin for me, so says my hubby. I told him about it and suggested I shoot for the 8, he said he thinks a 12 would look better, but there's no size 12 left either... So I am a bit bummed. My motivational dress.. sigh.... :( ...I looked for another I like as well, but didn't find one. Yes, they have pretty dresses, but none struck me like that one did. Oh well. Another will come along eventually.
I am down a total of 29 lbs now. I'm hoping to be down at least another 2 lbs by next Monday. Just gotta stay focused!

Many thanks for the congrats on my anniversary! :)
We used to have a tradition for about 18 years of not remembering it! About a week after we would laugh and say... guess what happened last week, we missed our anniversary! LOL... but now we remember it, but don't always do something special. Last year he bought me a beautiful anniversary ring. This year he suggested we go to a nice restaurant, I declined and told him that when our grill parts get in (burners burned out) then we'll get some really nice steaks and fix our own elegant dinner. :)
In the meantime, grill wise, we picked up a cheap-o charcoal grill last night... gotta have somthing to grill my chicken and make hamburgers on! :)
This morning I weighed in at 209. I'm losing kinda fast, but still feel some of it may be water weight. I don't care. I like my numbers so far. Down 26 lbs from when I joined Sparkpeople! I have been feeling so much better over the last week. My calories and carbs have been low, but good for me. I will try to slowly increase both once I get an exercise routine established. I'm concerned about the starvation mode thing... but not worried. I think the amount of calories needed to stave that off probably varies with people and my metabolism is quite low right now.
Exercise is what I need, and I'll do ok for a couple days, then blow it off for a couple days... I need to be more committed on that!

Thank y'all so much for the encouragement! I was down another 1 1/2 lbs this morning ... most excellent.
Today is our anniversary! We have been married 21 years today!
And still going strong! :)

Today I am 22 lbs down from my start weight... I needed to lose 88 lbs, now I need to lose 66! It's a milestone of sorts! I'm a quarter of the way there!!!

Found this challange in 40 Something Sparkteam, and it's a great idea... The challange is 15 lbs down by Labor Day, and that is perfect to get me under 200 by then.
I've begun to keep close watch on sodium, and today I walked on my treadmill for 15 minutes.It's a good start. I also feel a need to cut caffine. (I'm usually caffinated all day!) I've not been feeling well, having heart palpitations (I guess that's what you'd call it) and my ankles have been swelling. I had a doc visit not too long ago and all my bloodwork was good. Doc said to lose weight is all. No reason for my fat other than too much eating and not enough moving. He said I wasn't obese (although I disagreed with that) and decided not to prescribe diet pills... bummed me out at the time, but now I'm glad. I can do this without them!!!
As for my problems... I know bad eating and no exercise is the culprit. So, I got back on track a few days ago... And dropped lots of water weight in just 3 days. Sunday night I was 221... this morning (Thursday) I'm 213.5! The swelling is diminishing and I'm feeling better. I don't care if it IS water weight... I love seeing those numbers on my scale decrease.
I'm also being held accountable for my calorie, carb and water totals in the Atkins team and am challanged to not cheat in a No-Cheating team and now will accept the walking challange at NewSpark (although I'm not doing the FamilyCircle walking) ... So, If I'm active in all this and keep up what I've been doing, I should reach my goal by Labor Day, or have lost even more than 15 (that would be so good!)
Self imposed goals:
calories per day: 1000 or less
carbs per day: 20 or less
water per day: 80 oz or more
walking per day: 15 min or more
My first obstacle... this weekend! What is it about weekends that tends to easily screw things up????
