Fall 5% Challenge Assignment 6 -Why?

Today's assignment is to list all the reasons you want to lose weight.

What do you want to change? I want to change my own perception of myself, and unfortunately, my self-confidence and self-esteem is directly tied to my weight, size, and appearance. What a drag and so very hard to change... but I'm working on it. I want to be confident and self-assured.

How do you want to look and feel? I want to look and feel good, fit, healthy, thin. I have never in my life been thin. I've been close, but still not quite there. It would be nice to know how it feels to be truly thin. No more regrets, and I want my sexy back, too. :)

What things will you be able to do in the future with a slimmer healthier body? And list all the OTHER things that you want to change!
Shop in normal, smaller sizes. Share some clothes with my daughters. Wear tank tops again. I will not get out of breath at all when climbing stairs. I might even, along the way, join a 5K somewhere. What? Me? Run? You fell for that one? LOL!!! Only if zombies are chasing me! I will be able to dress like I feel, instead of dressing to cover fat rolls. I'm also hoping that being thinner will help with my anxiety issues with are connected highly with me feeling fat. No more freaking out, I hope. LOL! I will be able to like pictures of myself (I hope) and will no longer avoid cameras. I will say yes to more social fun. Have genuine fun at the beach and water parks. I want to get to a point that my weight is NOT an issue any more, that being fit and healthy and at a good weight is just part of ME... without thinking about it too hard. I know I'll be forever one who has to be aware, but I don't want to forever be the one who obsesses over diet and exercise.

And for even more motivation and inspiration for me is the lead singer of my favorite band: He lost 60 lbs the smart way... good food choices, portion control and exercise.

    Great goals!!! You will get there and you will be glad that you did! It was a long time for me to get there, but I'm realizing how much I used to avoid the camera, how careful I was to buy clothing that would make me look better than what was reality. Now I'm feeling great and getting compliments. So keep going, you will get there!!!

Fall 5% Challenge Assignments 3, 4, 5 -Check Lists?

#3 - Update Sparkpage. I do this pretty often. My info is generally up to date and I change my pictures and graphics often. so... done... often. :)

#4 - Check List for today
Do you already have a daily routine that includes your fitness and well being? I actually do not. I'm very much a spontaneous type person... routines, I know, are helpful.
Please tell us what works for you. Being in the proper frame of mind.

#5 - Check List for tomorrow
Do you already have a daily routine that includes preparation for a successful tomorrow? Again, no. I do try to make sure the night before, sometimes, that I have something healthy to carry for lunch if the next day is a work day, but this is not a routine thing I do, but it is helpful.
Do you have it where you see it often? Nope... don't have one.

I use SP for keeping track of most of my healthy things... like how much water I drink, how many fruits and veggies I have and I reckon that is kind-of routine-ish for me. :)

I don't want to overcomplicate my weight loss and getting healthy endeavors, and I am the type of person, a perfectionist, that if I have a list I must follow, and I mess up, I might just throw in the whole day because that one was not perfect. I am better off with general things that I don't have to "check off" of any list... things I just do, as this is a lifestyle change for me. I want my choices to be for my health... and just in my nature. So far I'm doing pretty good. :) I already automatically reach for more healthy snacks, My portions for the most part are much more in line with actual serving sizes, I eat a lot more fresh fruits and veggies, I drink a lot of water, and exercise isn't something I always plan on doing, but I get in a bit extra ... like walking to the post office and bank from work, or going up and down the stairs several extra times along with a workout when I can... and lots of dancing when I'm alone at home. :) I'm not trying to just turn over a new leaf... I'm turning over the whole tree.

I don't want to do check lists the rest of my life. I don't want a check list that translates into either a success, meaning I did everything on the list, or a fail, meaning I missed something. My days vary. My work schedule varies, and my time available varies. Please do not translate this into thinking I'm not willing to do anything I can to reach my goals, (to turn over the whole tree)... We are all different. If I decided that I must get up each morning to walk a mile before my shower... and I miss a day, then that day I would see as a fail and not even try. :/ I hate that I'm kind of mental like that, but at least I am aware of it.

My plan is in my head and it's basic...
Portion control, fruits and veggies, water, exercise.

    I'm the same way. I do use to do lists to keep track of other "stuff", but I just can't bring myself to make a checklist for my life. That way lies madness.

portion control
increase fruits and veggies, mainly raw fruits and veggies
Stay within my calorie range
Drink a lot of water.

    I'm kind of like JUSTME29, I don't think I could do such little amount of dairy. I drink kefir (a yogurty type drink full of probiotics every day). We all have to find what works for us though.     I like those pyramids. I'm not sure i like dairy only rarely though. milk and cheese are staples for me. it's all about finding what works for each of us.

What is your exercise plan?

I need to aim for consistency. So it's more than WHAT I'll do to exercise, it's the fact that I will just at least exercise each day. At least 10 minutes. I'll also be wearing my fitbit and trying for those 10,000 steps.
