Last week's recap...

Monday, January 11, 2010

emoticon

I managed 5 of 7 days exercise last week.
I hit 300 of my 300 minute goal.
I only was 7 calories short of my 1500 calorie burn goal.
Steps, well my pedo needs a battery.

My sit ups are at 33-34 of 32 Army minimum.
My push ups are at 14 of 12 Army minimum.

All in all not a bad week and this is with a cold at the end of it...

So I feel good about last week. I did manage 33 mins on TM with this cold... it's not a bad one, but it is sapping my energy and endurance. I was about whipped with that. I also mostly kept my calories in check and in range... and the end result...

I weighed in at 147 this morning!!

I can also tell that might thighs aren't rubbing together already. I love that since that was a condition that I have lived with since I was a teenager, but for the last 16 months of my life... and it was starting again.

I don't have any of my old fat clothes left... except for a few comfy things I couldn't part with... like sleep pants, sweatshirts, sweaters, etc... (not stuff I wear in public). And I can't afford to buy new clothes... so I have no choice but to stay at my healthy weight. (Not to mention that I don't want to go clothes shopping for new bigger stuff, HELLO?!)

Maintenance is a journey, not a destination.

Only one day off, despite coming down with a cold...

Friday, January 08, 2010

Only did 38 minutes on TM tonight, but I kinda ran out of gas... and I am sure I'm coming down with a cold.

But I exercised and stay just within calorie limits.

My old resolved is returning... and my random playlist helped:

1) Janine-Kim Wilde
2) Legs-Art of Noise
3) Hungry Like the Wolf-Duran Duran
4) Hold on Tight-ELO
5) Take 7/8-Ofra Haza
6) My Lips Are Waiting (Goa Groove)-Ashanti
7) A Passage to Bangkok-Rush
8) Singing Out My Life-Paula Cole
9) Love Is All We Need-Celine Dion
10) Rock Lobster-B52s

It's also nice feeling myself tightening up enough to not have my thighs rubbing together.

I did 33/32 sit ups and 14/12 push ups today... continuing to rebulld.

You are doing awesome! I hope you are able to fight off the cold so it won't affect how you feel for the coming week. Keep up your consistency!

Snow day and my back hurt...

Friday, January 08, 2010

So I didn't exercise much. I jogged in place for 3-5 minute segments in my living room and managed to accumulate 7100 steps.

Not too bad for a day when my back hurt. I laid on the floor with my legs up in my chair and became a cat couch too. Monty is a very loving purrfluff, but we still have not figured out the physics of his ability to concentrate every single one of his 14 lbs in each foot as he walks on us...

Anyway. It was sort of a rest day... the office wasn't closed, but I was afraid more of the other drivers than the roads and thusly stayed home.

I went over calories by 300... oh well, can't change yesterday... but I still ate TONS of veggies. But I got kinda snacky towards the end of the day... bah.

So today is a new day. And of course my pedo battery died today... so I will have to get that replaced in the next few days. I will also walk/run treadmill tonight to get some miles in. My back is also loads better today.

But it's so frakking cold out there that I just want to huddle somewhere under toasty blankies. Luckily the worst of this brutal cold snap is today and tomorrow... then we hit a balmy mid 20s on Sunday... break out your bikinis!

It's so hard to get motivated to eat right and exercise when it's like this outside. I go into retreat and hibernate mode... and the "don' wannas" come on and nag at me to just sit and knit. So I use knitting as a reward for getting up and moving... at least that was what I did last night. I'd jog in place for 3-5 mins and then sit and knit a row... then back up... I just started too late to get in my whole 10K steps.

Each day is a new challenge. . . I really want to hibernate until spring.

I think it would take HOURS of intense knitting to equal a much shorter time on TM or jogging in place.

She's right...knitting is on the calorie burning calculator thingy. So I'm NOT the only one with a wonky pedo now!!! I hate hubby's...no cal burn in it. ick..I like mine better.

A new day...a new day... a drip in the ocean that is our lifetime...remember, journey, not race. TTYL

I don't think it really counts as exercise, but I read knitting burns about 100 calories per hour. emoticon

Well I've matched last week's effort!

Wednesday, January 06, 2010

I have made it to 4 days straight of exercise... now to just make it 5 and I will have topped last week!

I also ate GREAT today. I made an amazing stir fry of veggies and tofu with a sauce of white wine, miso, dashi, water, soy, ginger & chinese five spice. I had it over brown rice and it was so so so YUMMY!

I had leftover quiche and salad for lunch. I was very careful all day.

Tonight my hips were a little sore, so I just walked 3.5 mph for 70 minutes on treadmill, took it easy based on how I felt. But still managed to top my 10K steps even though I forgot my pedo at work today.

I am wondering if I will go to work tomorrow since it is snowing like mad out there. We are only supposed to get around 5 inches... we have about 2 already... but it's the blowing and drifting they are predicting in the morning that concerns me more.

So I kept to my tracking of food and exercise today... we'll see what next week's weigh in says!
