I am still here.

Spent most of 2 weeks bringing my home
up to my former standards for Thanksgiving.
Had son, d-I-l and gd, my dh (we are separated),
and took an additional 2 meals for my friend E and
the lady she cares for.

My tree isn't up yet, will try again tomorrow.
It is usually done on Black Friday or that weekend.
Ooops ... again.

Friday evening, I started getting sick (stuff son had)
so have mostly rested over the last 2 days.

I am trying to gear up for Jan 1 and a renewed effort
at weight loss. I have been able to go to half doses of
4 of my meds. I have kept 10 of the 20 pounds I lost
this year, so am thankful for that.

    Something about cleaning my home and re -organizing refreshes my soul. Don't you agree? Sorry to hear about you & dh seperated. But Sounds like your doing real good with your weight loss. Keep up the good work.

Two weeks gone ... again.

I can't believe I have let another two weeks
go by, again! I always swear I am going to do
better and then crash again.

My doctor's appointment went pretty well.
He raised my depression meds to see if that
will help get me back in the right direction.
It has been over a year since I went on it, so
he said it was time to raise it.

It was mostly good news, cholesterol was
good except the HDL and triglycerides.
And my A1c was way high 8.6. However,
by going to every other day on three of
my meds, my kidney function raised 4 points
and I didn't have any gout attacks, either.
The HDL and tris. were because of lack of
exercise, so I know what to do.

He also gave me a week's worth of sleep in a pill.
I slept very well all that time, but am starting to
go back to the old cycle since I finished it. I see
him in a couple of weeks, hopefully I can stay on
track without it.

I have always said I would be happy to get back
to where I started the first time I lost weight. I
lost 50 pounds in TOPS and kept it off for 2.5 years.
I have been thinking about how hard it is to be
optimistic about losing almost twice that. So, I am
going to change my goal to 180 and see if I can
get out of this rut.

I am also soooo tired of eating frozen diet food.
What I am going to try is to go back to eating
"real" food and try to learn how to eat "normally".
Plan my meals, portion control them, and enjoy
"eating" again. I made homemade potato soup
yesterday ... it was so good.

Back onto the treadmill tomorrow for 10 min and
build myself back up.

I am planning to have Thanksgiving dinner here
this year. Last year I thought was my last year to
do it, but I feel better now. So I need to get with it
on my "fall cleaning".

As always, I will try to check in more often.

    I don't know if my son will be coming for Thanksgiving or not. It may just be my hubby and me. I won't fix a whole turkey for just the two of us.

I am trying to eat more normal too - just avoid processed foods, sugar, and transfat and eat fresh meat, fruits, veggies, seeds, nuts, legumes, and dairy while using portion control.

I am trying to get more exercise in too. Not easy with my R.A. and bad toe.

This month has really gone by fast.
Tired and lazy mostly, but all the
winterizing is done.

Still up and down 2-3 pounds. No exercise,
but trying to watch my calories

Will try to get back with it. Tuesday is
my quarterly doctor's appointment.
Haven't gotten my blood work done, yet,
so will probably have to take it after.

    I am just starting to get ready for winter. I gathered all of the yard decorations today to get ready to clean up and store. It's raining for the next 5 days so it's hard to get anything done.

I hope the doctors appointment and the labs are good. Let's have a good week!

Got behind again ...

I am still here. Not working as hard as
I should be, but am trying to get my
motivation back. Worked extra hard
in the yard, had a 10 hour day which
always puts me down for a few days.

Got all the evergreen bushes trimmed (3)
Evergreen trees trimmed (2), all outside
windows and screens cleaned, sprayed the weeds,
washed the car windows, wash, dried, and put all
5 cushions into garage, watered the rose bushes,
and vacuumed under all the bushes and trees in
the front yard. As far as I am concerned; that is the
last of the yard work before spring except battening
down the water hoses and water spouts, and covering
the swamp cooler when it cools down more.

I am very pleased with myself and am planning
on doing the fall cleaning now, inside the house.
Lots of de-cluttering is planned, drapes down and
cleaned, carpets and furniture cleaned (hoping to
hire someone to do it).

I am glad winter is almost here so I can do less yard
work and more housework and genealogy.

    You have been really busy!! We are in a similar place and we are getting a lot done too. We have started to remodel the back porch. Hubby replaced the rafters, boards, and roofing over this weekend. It is a huge project.

Had a great, productive day. Most of my
fall yard work is done. My reward is a hot
shower and all the Criminal Minds I can
watch before I get sleepy.

My goals for this week:
Health and fitness:
Walk 3 days for 10 min on treadmill (no, walked a lot though)
Walk 2000 steps per day (5 days) 3400+ today emoticon

Finish eating all the bad foods and get fridge cleaned out emoticon
Eat 1 fruit and 1 veggie daily emoticon

Personal growth projects:
Start reading my TOPS books
Do Spark Coach emoticon
Earn at least 50 spark points daily emoticon
Make at least 500 spark points for the month. emoticon

House and home:
Finish up the yard work that I can do right now (10 hrs) emoticon
Get started with fall cleaning emoticon
Outside windows and screens washed
Car cleaned, windows as well
