Tired and Sore after working all weekend!

It's hard to get moving after working all weekend. I wish I did not have to work every other weekend, but that is not an option right now. God's wisdom of resting on His day is truly a blessing to us. When I am not able to have my Sunday for this purpose, my body,soul and spirit all thirst for physical and spiritual strength. Time to read my Bible and pray!

It is hard to stay focused and positive when other significant people in my life are causing me pain. I usually respond by not wanting to do anything and I get irritable. Wish I could change how I respond. This doesn't happen often, but it ruins my whole day when it does. This time it was my wayward 18y/o daughter. I'm so thankful she does not live at home anymore, but her bad choices and temper still affects me. I regret answering her calls (sometimes I don't)! I let her disrespect ruin my whole beautiful Saturday, shame on me!! Well, today is a new day and a new week and after this blog I'm going to the gym!! And....I won't be answering her calls for awhile! emoticon

  


I did It!! I joined my favorite gym!!

The first of my two free training sessions starts tomorrow at 9am -- whaahoo! I had to go and buy new workout pants as my old ones are too small emoticon, but hopefully they'll fit again soon! This is a big step for me. I don't like taking on projects or activities that I might not stick with, so I do have some ambivalent feelings, but overall.....I can't wait!!

    I'm thinking of doing the same thing ... I went on line and found out our local (20 miles away) gym has a 7 day free pass that I can print out ... I'm thinking you might have me inspired ... looks like we're both plodding along about the same pace ... need to pick up my pace fast and thought that might be the right thing to do .....

    Way to go! Have fun at your training sessions! Having a gym you enjoy going to makes all the difference in working out and losing weight!

So my progress is very slow, but then I could exercise more. Perhaps now that the rain has stopped, this next week will truly feel like Spring. Maybe, I'll even feel like a Spring chicken or a Spring that was dried up and now alive with rushing waters!! But then, there is the broken Spring in my couch, and the one in my pen that I keep trying to fix. Well, we shall see about tomorrow. It has a life of its own, you know! Unless.... I choose to OWN it!! emoticon

So, here I am finally blogging, after more than 3 months on Spark. I started out having lost a few pounds just two weeks prior, and since joining have lost a few more.The greatest benefit, which is truly enlightening, is that by tracking my calories, I am now aware of what I eat. I have mostly stayed within my range but do not regularly exercise -- hence, the SLOW weight loss. The only negative for me is the amount of time that I spend tracking. It seems to take longer than it should. I need to create shortcuts to clump the items I eat everyday together, like fish oil and coffee creamer. I wonder if there is a way to organize my favorite list?
In any case, I LOVE reading entries by other members -- very encouraging. I still don't understand exactly how to find buddies, so for now you could say I am winging it either alone, or with the entire spark community. I prefer my cup to be half full and greatful for this sophisticated site!
I've wanted to rejoin my favorite gym (currently belong to one I don't like and don't go to). I've made this a reward for losing ten pounds, sort of a proof of commitment. Well, I have one pound to go (started before Spark), and I am going to rejoin the best gym ever!! Can't wait!!

    Good blog.........for your first one. I don't think you can organize your favorite list, however in the "food save" area you can create "food groupings". I have done this with meals I do a lot. You could get creative and put just about anything in there....however here to you cannot re-organize, but my list here is much shorter.
