Kinda fell off track....

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Not sure what happened other than just being busy but I kinda fell off track this past week. Part of the problem is that I have started working a lot of day shifts so that means that I am up at 3:30-4:00 am, which means that when I get home from work around 5 pm I am ready for bed! I have not worked out in over a week.... emoticon and I can tell! I gained 2 pounds since Valentine's Day.... I don't think that is too bad considering that I have not really been focused. I did fit into a pair of jeans this weekend that I have not worn in a few years emoticon and I had a member of my husband's family that usually sees me 2-3 times a year not recognize me Saturday!

10 Pounds!!!

Thursday, February 12, 2009

I hit the 10 pound mark today! Since joining Sparkpeople on 12/31/08 I have lost 10.4 pounds! I have lost 27.4 pounds since last July when I was at my heaviest. Logging in daily and keeping track of my food intake and my exercise minutes has made this easier than I thought! Now that I have hit the 10 pound mark my goal for this week is to maintain this weight. I will be ok if I am the same weight this time next week. I just don't want to see the scales go up!

Driving tips.....

Friday, February 06, 2009

Ok, so here is the deal.... I drive approximately 70 miles a day on I-64. This is not a very busy interstate. At times the traffic can be a little heavy but it is not like a freeway in some big city. Well, I swear that I am the only person in the state of VA that can drive! emoticon I really want to make some signs so that I can hold them up for other drivers at appropriate times.

Here they are:

Amen Sister - This drives me crazy too. I don't travel 64 much, but I travel 29 just about everyday. Why is it that people get into the left lane and then go 45mph? Stop the Insanity. . . .

little better this week

Wednesday, February 04, 2009

Things have been a little better since last week. The scales moved this morning! So far 8.8 pounds lost since 12/31! emoticon I only made it to the gym once this week. I was going to go yesterday after work but it was just one of those days and I ended up staying over for 2 hours. I plan on going today though. I feel much better when I do go. I know that I need to spend a little more time there when I do go but at least I am making a start.

Way to go on the loss.....I have been so stressed out the last two weeks, I have totally done bad on the food, but am still getting into the gym. Hopefully, I can get as focused as you in February. Keep up the great work.

I need to get out of this house!!

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

Well I didn't go to work yesterday or today because of the weather. I normally don't have an issue driving in bad weather but I guess since I was being a smart ass about people calling in when the weather was bad it happened to me. I was on my way to work on Tuesday. I had even packed my overnight bag so that I could just stay in town and not have to drive the 35 miles across the mountain to get back home. I was sitting at a stoplight and looked in my rear view mirror and here comes this black Dodge Ram getting ready to ram me! I was the first car at the light so I said a quick little prayer and drove through the intersection. Luckily nothing was coming! Guess that Dodge forgot that it was freaking sleeting and that the roads were icy!! emoticon After that I went to the next light and instead of taking a right to go to work, I took a left and headed back home. I was supposed to be at work at 6 am today and I called them last night and told them that I would not be in. It sleeted all night long and I knew that the mountain was gonna be bad that early in the morning. Like I said, I normally don't have a problem driving in snow or ice...... I go slow, allow myself PLENTY of time to stop.... basically drive like I have some sense but that was the first time in my 20 years of driving that I have ever almost had a wreck because of bad roads. And it didn't help to come home and on the news hear that 3 people died in auto accidents in this area yesterday due to the bad roads. So, all I did yesterday was sit in front of this darn computer and wasted my ENTIRE day! emoticon I didn't do the first thing for school, didn't even write some emails to friends that I have been needing to write for a while now! emoticon My husband, that also works at the jail with me, stayed in town last night so he wasn't home which meant that I was even less motivated to do anything. I did clean my bathrooms and wash the rugs but other than that not one productive thing! Speaking of the bathroom cleaning, I now have a new level of respect for people that have to clean public restrooms. There are 5 males in this house ranging in age from 5 to 29...... need I say more?! emoticon
So, today I slept in until 11ish. I am gonna finish writing this and go hit the gym. After that I am going to go pick up my son from his dad's and I will have a productive day.... what's left of it anyways!

Hi - I had the same kind of day yesterday . . . even worse, I was so bored that I ate crap. Gym was closed, so I sat on my butt and did NOTHING. . . Nada. . .

However, I am looking at it as the break I needed to re-energize myself for a strong ending of the month!!!!!
