So my dad got me a tool like the dwarves use at work in Snow White. I made good use of it today! He's totally right its the best for breaking up hard, chelated, desert soil.

So Excited to start a Dance Class

My Hubby and I will be starting a dance class together tonight! I'm so excited because it will act like a date night for us and make him a more confident dancer as well as help me review some dances I haven't done in awhile and learn a couple of new ones. Plus, it may be a beginner's class and probably won't be heavy cardio for most of the night, BUT its still movement and its movement after dark when I'm less likely to be moving around a lot on my own anyway.

    I'm so jealous!!!! I've been trying to get my husband to take a class with me and he finally agreed to go this fall/winter and what-do-you-know? I'm having vertigo, and there's no way I can spin around a dance floor. ARG. Now he'll probably want to wait until next fall!

You're right, it is still movement, and for me keeping busy means I can't eat anything! If I'm just sitting on the couch at night I want to eat.

Thigh Buster Saturday

I spent a good portion of Saturday morning finishing up a project in the garden and then spent the afternoon squatting down and picking up large rocks in a neighbor's yard and then rolling them in our wheelbarrow the two blocks back to my place. It was perfect because especially my thighs felt like they got a workout but I wasn't so sore I couldn't do anything else. PLUS I was getting a job done that will help beautify my home and some one elses! Talk about multitasking.

I had found a bunch of recipes that are easily frozen and premade them so the whole family is eating more well-rounded, healthier food again. I haven't entered all the ingredients etc. on the recipe tracker though so I'm still not keeping a diary of my food intake again. One step at a time I guess right?

Weekend of Cooking

So, I just spent the entire weekend cooking! I made a number of dishes that only need an ingredient or two and some heat so that my husband can make them and make them very easily. Hopefully this will make it easier for him so there is a larger variety of food choices that still offer healthy well, rounded nutrition for my family.

I also made some energy bars, bran muffins, whole wheat pancakes, and things that can be warmed in the mornings for a good healthy start to the day.

Thank goodness for freezers and crockpots!

    I do this too! I have a wonderful book called "What to Cook When You Think You Have Nothing in the House to Eat". The recipes are all healthy and balanced and use low cost foods no one thinks about using but everyone has. Generally I cook all day on Sunday so we have our meals for the week just laid out. Recently I bought a dehydrator too so more food could be stored. If you have the food on hand, you're less likely to get fast food.
