Every afternoon when my kids get home, they eat a snack and then it's homework time. Well yesterday, I decided to let them watch President-Elect Obama's and Senator McCain's speeches from Tuesday night. Well, my regular routine was side tracked as they had lots of questions. We ended up watching other shows recapping the historical night. We were all so excited. We ate dinner, made lunches, they took baths and off tobed at 8:30. At about 1:30 am, I woke up in a sweat remembering that I never studied with my 9 year old. He had a test today on the Scientific Method. So, I got him up at 5:30, at 6, he was done with breakfast, bathroom responsibilites, everything packed and ready to go. So from 6-6:30, we studied the notes. I checked on my other 2 sons just to make sure they were ready to head out. at 6:40, I gave my 9 year old an oral quiz and they were out the door at 6:55. Well......... his teacher e-mailed me about 30 minutes ago to tell me that he earned a 105 on his test. He told her the story about us cramming in an early morning study session. His teacher commended us both and then said, 'you know, this is just like the story Obama told about how his mother would get him up early to study.' I love the analogy, however, I don't plan to make a habbit of it. I'm very proud of my son.

OK. IT'S BEEN ONE YEAR SINCE I HAVE HAD MY HAIR CUT. I THINK I WAS IN THE ELEVENTH GRADE THE LAST TIME MY HAIR WAS SO LONG. IT WAS VERY HEALTH, BUT MY HAIR IS VERY FINE.
IT WAS HANGING DOWN MY BACK, LOOKING LIKE SILKY, BLACK STRING. ON THE WEEKDAYS, I PUT IT BACK IN A PONYTAIL, BUT ON SUNDAYS, I HAVE TO LET IT DOWN.
WELL...... MY SON'S FRIEND'S MOM IS A BEAUTICIAN. SHE OWNS HER A SHOP AND IS HARDLY AT HOME. HER SON USUALLY COMES TO MY HOUSE AFTER SCHOOL AND STAYS SOMETIMES UNTIL ABOUT 7. HE'S A VERY NICE KID AND I WOULD RATHER HIM HANG OUT AT MY HOME THAN TO BE ALONE FOR SO LONG. ALL OF MY KIDS ARE GREAT STUDENTS. I DON'T HAVE TO 'HELP' THEM WITH HOMEWORK. THIS KIDS NEEDS LOTS. I AM AN EDUCATOR OF 19 YEARS. IT IS MY PLEASURE TO ASSIST HIM. I THINK HE CRAVES A NORMAL HOME LIFE THAT WE OFFER.
NOW ON TO THE HAIR. I OFFERED TO LET THIS KID TO GO WITH MY KIDS TO A HARVEST FEST AT OUR CHURCH. THAT ALLOWED HER TO STAY AT WORK UNTIL ABOUT 9. I MENTIONED TO HER EARLIER THAT I WOULD GET HER TO CUT MY HAIR. SHE SAID THAT SHE WOULD BE HAPPY TO CUT IT WHEN SHE CAME TO PICK HER SON UP.
I TOLD HER I WANTED A VICTORIA BECKAM/RHIANA STYLE BOB. WELL I GOT AN ANGELA BASSET/HALLE BERRY SHORT DO. I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE HAD A PICTURE. DON'T GET ME WRONG, THE GIRL CAN CUT. IT LOOKS GOOD, I JUST WASN'T WANTING TO MAINTAIN THE STYLE.
I HAVE LEARNED IN LIFE NOT TO 'SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF.' SO, IT WASN'T THE HAIR STYLE I WANTED, BUT I HAD A VERY NICE CUT. MY HAIR GROWS VERY FAST, SO MAYBE NEXT TIME. MANY OF MY CHURCH MEMBERS HAD TO TAKE A DOUBLE TAKE. I RECEIVED NUMEROUS COMPLIMENTS. OUR ASSOCIATE MINISTER INTRODUCED MY HUSBAND AT AN AFTERNOON PROGRAM. HE INTRODUCED ME BY SAYING THAT HE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE HIS FIRST LADY WAS, BUT ANGELA BASSET IS WITH THE PASTOR TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Day To All,
When most of you wake up in the morning, you don't even think about your ability to sit up, stand, or even take steps. Well, for me, living with MS, I have to consider all of that and more. Just to make a long story short (and it's a long story), I have been really going through over the past couple of months, even bound to a wheelchair at some point. But, Glory Be To God !!!!
I am now able to take about 20 steps w/out assistance. I am a 42 yr old pastor's wife, mother of 3 young boys, and former high school assistant principal with MS. Each day as I pray, I always thank God first for all of the good things and then I ask for help with the others. As you walk around this week, thank Him and say a prayer for me that I soon will be able to walk, run, skip, dance, and hop again.
