December Goals

Wednesday, December 01, 2010

I have been having problems being down the last couple of weeks. It is now time to put that behind and get my energy renewed and get on track again. I gained 2 1/2 pounds over Thanksgiving :-(. I checked my exercise for the past 7 days and only exercised for 3 of them. With overeating and not exercising it isn’t surprising to see a weight gain. I don’t want to gain any during December. If I can just maintain, I will be very happy.

Track all food everyday and don’t go over calorie limit.
Drink 6 glasses of water a day.
Eat 3 fruits/veggies a day..
Exercise at least 4 days a week. I start having a once a month trainer this Thursday. Looking forward to find out what she has for me to do.
Huddle every day.
Read some team blogs every day.

Looking forward to a good December.

You are doing a good thing by setting those goals. I wish you well in maintaining this Month. Dec. is so full of temptation and busy along with it. But girl-- emoticon And when we check in to Jan., we will see how we did because I am joining you in that challenge. Maintain, maintain, maintain! emoticon

I too need to get back in the saddle.

Yvonne, great plan. I know you can do it - stay focused and read them each day and you will make your goal. Let us know how the personal trainer session goes.

    Great goals, Yvonne!

When I read that you plan to "huddle every day", I was still thinking about the 13 degrees 5K and my first thought was huddling together for warmth:-) Then it hit me - duh, huddle in Spark teams - lol:-)

Take it one day at a time, and I know you can release some weight this month, as Monty has said. Sometimes I get overwhelmed if I think about doing something for an entire month (or even a week sometimes:-) but just one day - of course, sometimes I have to say just right now:-) You CAN do it - I KNOW you can! And just think how proud of yourself you'll be!

I heard the other day someone say that wisdom is making a decision now that you'll be happy with later. I'm trying to remember that:-) Choosing each decision to follow the goals we set for ourselves sets us up to be happy with ourselves later:-)

Have an awesomely blessed day, my friend!

    Hi Yvonne
I like your goals for December, They should not present any problems in doing them.
Now, Turkey day is over and you said you gained 2.5 pounds. Yes it is the past, and December is the month. I would like to suggest a change in your affirmation about December to something like this. I will release weight for the month of December. At least this way you are working through the month with idea of releasing instead of hoping that you at least maintain.
I truly believe that you can release weight, I see no reason with tracking and doing your goals that you should gain any weight. As I said in my blog, I have gone through 3 years of the season without gaining any weight. I know that you can do the same for December.
Great goals, great blog.

Oops!!!

Sunday, November 21, 2010

I think I just goofed up. Actually I know I did :-(. DS wanted to know if there was an upcoming 5k that we could do. There is a Turkey Trot 5k Saturday I thought. I had even bookmarked it. He said fine, let's do it. So I registered both of us to do it. I went back to see when we have to pick our packets up and found out the race is Thursday. That's right, Thanksgiving Day. Guess who is fixing Thanksgiving dinner. Yup, me!!! Fortunately I had already planned on doing a lot of it ahead of time so it should work out. I should be back home by 10:30.

Looks like we are going to have an exciting Thanksgiving Day at our house.

Hope everyone has a great Turkey Day!!!

Days 18 and 19

Friday, November 19, 2010

Had a good day both days. YAY!!! I needed some good days. Today I posted my status as being on a plateau and SP said I lost 1 pound. That is because I hadn’t entered my weight on SP for about 3 weeks. I kept forgetting to. I was entering every week on our team challenge – does that count lol. I went to the gym both days and had good workouts.

Drink 8 glasses of water a day. emoticon
Eat 3 fruits/veggies a day. emoticon
Loose 3 lbs
Don’t go over calorie limit. emoticon

Do knee exercises, yoga, cardio for a total of 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week

Days 15-17

Thursday, November 18, 2010

I am trying to get back in the groove and catch up on some of my Sparking. This month hasn't been easy.

I found this in another blog: "1 Step Back, 2 Steps Forward" - "No matter how many obstacles you run into, what matters is that you’re able to overcome each of them, one at a time." That has been happening a lot to me lately and the 2 Steps Forward have been very hard to accomplish. It is good that we joined the gym or it would be 2 Steps Back, 0 Steps Forward. I go to the gym 3x a week and do yoga and cardio at home the other 3 days. Usually I love going to the gym, but lately that has even been hard. I am determined to keep taking those two steps forward, especially through the holidays. For years I have been very careful through the holidays. It is much easier to not gain weight than to loose it afterward.

    Hi Yvonne
You are doing great, what I feel is , that you are getting stresses with the holidays and trying to do your goals. The idea of 1 step back and 2 forward, is that you make up the step backwards and taking a new step forward. When 1 gets the pressure of doing something makes it that much more difficult. You have been successful, just know that you are being successful now, one day at a time.

Stick with it! You can do it, just be sure to take one day at a time and not beat yourself up for yesterday. Don't stress over things you can't control. Tomorrow is always a new and fresh start, be sure to make the most of it! emoticon

Day 12

Saturday, November 13, 2010

11/12
Had a busy day planned today but didn’t have ANY energy. I pushed myself on my workout yesterday – it felt so good – and today I ended up being a couch potato. I had 10,703 steps yesterday and usually have between 5 and 7,000. This has happened before after a day where I was exceptionally active. I decided my body needed this day off and took it. I will get back on track tomorrow. emoticon

    Hi Yvonne
I want you to know that you are doing an awesome job, your attitude is fantastic and you are very motivated. There is nothing wrong with a day off, if the body is calling for it, we should rest.
I feel by you posting these daily goals that it has helped and I also feel you will reach your goals as you travel your journey.Thank you for sharing.
