Day 5

Saturday, November 06, 2010

11/5

Missed they gym today. Mom had a rough morning. This afternoon DH suggested going for a walk. Went outside, the sun was shining and it was warm. Sunshine is good medicine for me. It is something my body craves and fortunately we get a lot of it here.

I have tweaked my goals some. I will include yoga, knee exercises and cardio in the 30 minutes of exercise. On the days that I did yoga and knee exercises it was very difficult to get in 30 minutes of cardio too. Looking forward to see how this works out.

Drink 8 glasses of water a day. emoticon
Eat 3 fruits/veggies a day. emoticon
Loose 3 lbs
Don’t go over calorie limit. emoticon

Do knee exercises, yoga, cardio for a total of 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week

Yay for sunshine! Yay for getting outside to enjoy it! Yay for hubby knowing what you needed! Sorry to hear your Mom is having a rough day. Praying she will rest peacefully tonight! It sounds wise to plan different workouts for different days -- it all adds up, and variety is good to keep you motivated!

PTL balance is coming! Just because you made an adjustment doesn't mean it will always be easy but hopefully it is more manageable. Keep striving! Sunshine is always good medicine, glad DH encouraged you to enjoy it, get some exercise and have time with him, what a winning combination! Make sure you reward your DH too, he blesses you to so many ways and can be your best source of encouragement on this journey.

Keep up the great work, and one day missed out if 6 isn't bad. You are meeting your goals, which is emoticon

And I have to agree the sunshine here is awesome. I think this is one of the best places to live, but I could be a little biased?

The sun is wonderful here, I agree! Its a far cry from the smoggy gray skies that is often experienced in the northeast. Even the skies at night here are beautiful. I love gazing at the stars, but I also know I need to get my zzz's. emoticon

Day 4

Friday, November 05, 2010

11/4
Took Mom out to lunch today at Bamboo City and then shopping at Wally World. This was after I went to the gym in the morning.

I am finding it very difficult to keep up with the extra exercising and the other things that I need to do. I have cut back drastically on my Spark time and I seem to be getting behind on everything. I will think about what I am doing and see if I can’t tweak it a bit.

Looks like you are doing well, but balance is key. A healthy lifestyle is not doing long lists, pray you take some time to prioritize. When I'm feeling swamped I go back to the basics. Here are my basics:
1.Time with God
2. 8 glasses of water
3. 5 F/V
4. Exercise (You have to decide what is "needed") Does your knee and yoga count as part of your cardio? If not, could it?

Just thoughts, you get what you pay for and this is free. emoticon

I am guessing Wally World is Wal-Mart, I love and miss that place. I enjoy on-line but it is not the same as roaming the isles.

Hi Yvonne
Each person knows how much they can do in a day. With out cutting any of the exercises, you may want to consider to adjusting the time just a little. Some minutes are better than no minutes. What ever decision you make , congratulations on what you do.

Keeping up with everything is a huge challenge! Learning to prioritize seems to be a key helper in that, I'm still working on it myself.

Day 3

11/3

We babysat our 2yo GS this morning. He rode in the stroller until we got to the small park near us and then wanted to walk. He doesn’t actually walk, he runs. He is so cute. Makes me hurry to keep up with him. We walked for 30 minutes. Had to get my cardio in. He didn’t walk the whole way. It was good we had the stroller.

I can feel the excitement in your writing, Great to be able to watch the little one and still get your cardio in. Isn't it interesting about food and calories, I thought at time even the minimum calories could be a lot of food. You are on a roll, keep up your great work and congratulations on day 3.

Looking out my front window in the morning is a beautiful weeping willow tree. When the sun shines on it in the morning it looks like gold. What a gorgeous sight to wake up to. emoticon emoticon
